Listen Up {Open!} Cause I've Got a Lot to Say
By: Truth Date: October 19, 2013, 1:10 am
---------------------------------------------------------
[center]It was that time again, wasn't it? Meetings, promotions,
demotions, alliances, wars-
She could go on forever. Not literally, of course, but for a
while.
The brindle and white hybrid's spotted white paws contrasted
greatly to the mixed shades of her fur, and her tall ears were
pricked. Her black nose, on the end of a muzzle of medium
length, was twitching, and her amber-brown eyes were straining
for any sign of any other canine's. The Proxy of the Rippers was
watchful yet wary. She hoped that Jacob would come; it wasn't
that she couldn't announce anything, but she didn't want to say
anything that meant she was challenging the Topdog's position.
Maybe one day she would fight Jacob for the position, but that
one day wasn't now.
Besides, sometimes she got a little carried away. She had a
sharp tongue, after all, and the snobbish Noble's always seemed
to take the slightest thing in to effect. When she'd been exiled
from the Noble's and become a stray, she'd been lucky she was
accepted by the Ripper's, even if it was only as a Follower. But
she'd proved herself, aye, and had finally been allowed to
become more than just a hanger-on. And here she was now;
Underdog and Proxy of the Ripper's. She'd come a long way.
"Alright, listen up you lot." She barked, and the powerful yet
lean canine waited, watching the others around her.

Jacob came into view softly. He was Proxy of the Nobles, and had
personally banished his Underdog from them. You might call it
being rude, but it was the rules. Even if outside of the gangs
she was a big shot, Jacob couldn't ignore the gang rules. Lose
to who you challenge, you're dumped. It applied both in and
outside of the gangs.
The husky padded up and sat down softly. He'd just passed the
Meat Shop and the Meat Man had tossed a couple hot dogs. The Top
Dog placed one at his Underdog's feet, before munching on his
own. Although not being part of the Rippers, as Top Dog he
needed to oversee it. Just to make sure any mistakes weren't
made.

She nodded to Jacob, and waited until he'd gotten a good way
into his meal before beginning to eat her own. That's how it
was-the ranks above you ate first, then yourself. The brindle
hybrid finished the hotdog and then sat down, idly scratching at
one ear with a paw.
"Mornin' Jacob. You fared well?" Alae asked, thumping her
white-tipped tail against the ground. The action sent small
puffs of dust into the cold air.

Licking his lips from the meat, he turned with a bored look on
his face. "Not much action. This 'Winchester' is a pretty new
home, considering this Canine's Corner is pretty barren so far."
He grumbled softly. What was the point of being Top Dog with no
one to rule? Before Winchester there was some place called
Marletson. Then a freak storm hit, ruining half the town and a
couple others, which caused a ton of people, their pets and dogs
to leave. That was a couple years ago, and builders came in and
made Winchester. About of few months after construction was
done, a few people started moving in. Only a few canines had
stayed, but more were coming.

the golden retriever padded up, blond fur recently groomed since
he just came back from a hunt. yes, he hunted, even though he
could get free food from The Meat Shop, it was an instinct he
never shook from his wild dog days. "hello my friends,", Cody
greeted the three seated there. He was Guard of The Treasurers,
and had to be sophisticated if not demotion was looking him in
the face. Cody dipped his head to his higher ups and settled
himself down under the shade of a large oak tree.

Nodding sagely, she then sighed. "'tis getting harder 'round
these parts. We've done better." She thought of the Ripper's,
and couldn't help but grin. Well, her group of canines were
strong and fighting-fit, at any rate. "How are the Noble's
faring, Jacob?" She tried to pass the question of as nonchalant,
but she was always ready to hear any news of her old alliance,
just like any canine around Canine's Corner was out for a whiff
of meat.
She spotted the semi-familiar form of the golden retriever and
nodded briefly to the Guard of the Treasurer's. She did not
break eye contact with Cody, nor look away, whereas with Jacob
she would. Alae, you see, was very quick to stick to the lines
of respect when it came to rankings. Her own pack knew that just
as well as she knew her own forepaws. She noted the thick,
recently groomed fur of the Guard and glanced ruefully down at
her own fur, ruffled and dust-streaked. Sighing once more, the
mix began the tedious task of grooming.

The emissary of the rippers simply stayed in his own spot. He
sat up and licked a few streaks of blood in his fur. Gengar
smirked slightly as he peered at the two leaders talking. He
sighed slightly and walked towards Cody, a smile on his face.
"Hello Cody." He hadn't met this guard, but heard some about
him. He sat down and licked his paws.

"and a good morning to you Gengar, just here to listen to Alae,
i suppose you are too?", he asked politely, inclining his head a
little. Cody had heard of this emissary, of The Rippers if he
recalled correctly. He seemed like quite a nice fellow, they
were all part of Canine's Corner after all, with no current
rivalry between the Gangs it seemed like a good time to make a
few friends. the blond canine, blinked his eyes slowly, nodding
to Alae as she started grooming. respect was important in the
Corner, everyone should understand that.

Gengar nodded smiling. After all when he didn't fight it was
nice to have a few friends around the place. "Yes, I am." His
blue eyes twinkled slightly and he gave a wolf like smirk. His
black and white pelt might as well be gleaming. He groomed it
this morning. Like he always did.

At the sound of her name, she glanced up. Grinning at Cody, she
laughed. "Haha, well you're probably right there, Cody!" She
replied with a wag of her tail. Noting the nod he gave her, she
relaxed-well, not completely. She never really relaxed. Except
when she was sleeping. But that was a possibility. "How are the
Treasurer's faring, may I ask?" The brindle and white canine
inquired.
