"You can't go back, Bob"

Do you think Gareth was truly too far gone at this point? He did
give off the impression that he'd lost all hope and believed
that living like he and the termites did was the only way to
make it.
Were they really too far gone?

I think the trauma the Marauders inflicted on Gareth and his
people ratcheted his smug personality to the extreme. I mean,
Gareth was preparing to serve up his dead brother because the
only contribution he could make to Terminus was as a meal!

Yeah I thought that too was very creepy how they would just
consume their own rather than giving them a proper burial. I do
think Gareth was a very interesting character and I would've
preferred it if he'd lived a little longer in 5A. Daryl had the
feeling someone was watching them and he was right in the end.
I was greatly disappointed though that Daryl wasn't with Rick
and the others when they killed the hunters. Especially after
"A" where Rick said Daryl was his "brother", well his brother
should've been there for that moment. And instead we had Daryl
and Carol trying to find and bring back Beth.

It really was a feud between Rick and Gareth. Gareth thought he
held all the cards until Carol attacked Terminus. Gareth
briefly thought he regained them when he attacked Rick and his
group, only to discover Rick had literary bluffed him.

True, but I like to think about how cool it would've been if
Daryl and Carol were there. Carol coming face to face with
Gareth and talking down to him the same way he talked to Bob
right before Rick kills him with the red machete.

Neither Daryl or Carol would've said a word in that situation,
they'd have just killed Gareth because they get the job done.
