       Shane Walsh (Comic Book Version)

In the comic book, Shane Walsh was the best friend and law
enforcement partner of Rick Grimes, and the original leader of
the Atlanta group. Shane also had an affair with Rick's wife
Lori, and was so jealous of Rick's surprising return, he
attempted to kill Rick, but was instead killed by Rick's young
       son Carl.
Shane lasted only six issues in the comic book. Part of the
reason was that creator Robert Kirkman had no assurances from
Image Comics that the book would be picked up. But what if
Image gave Kirkman that assurance from the start? How would
Shane develop as a character, and would he still be alive in the
       comic book today?

I think that if Shane had lived longer in the comic it would
have been about the same as it was in the TV series. You'd have
Rick and Shane arguing all the time over what's the best way to
keep the group safe and what not, and of course Lori. Shane
wouldn't be happy with Rick back in the picture and would
       probably plan to kill him.
Bottom line I don't think Shane would've lasted much longer.
       Rick would've eventually killed him.

In the comics, Shane wasn't just the leader of the Atlanta
group, he was the dictator. He angrily insisted the army was
coming to save them and they needed to stay near Atlanta.
Rick also seemed afraid of Shane, as he always backed down when
Shane went on one of his rants. That's not to say Rick wouldn't
have eventually stood up to Shane as the group's desperate
       situation demanded they relocate.

Yeah which goes to show it would have been nothing but conflict
and disagreements between him and Rick, and then you add Lori
into the mix. Same recipe for disaster.

But in the comics, Lori was furious at Shane for taking
advantage of her during a moment of despair and weakness. She
wanted nothing to do with him after Rick returned.
On the show, Lori had too many issues: wanting Shane gone,
wanting Shane to stay, wanting things between her family and
Shane to go back to the way they were before the Turn.

Well while Lori may have been furious after the fact she was
just as capable of saying no at the time. She could've stopped
him at any point but she didn't because she obviously wanted it
       too.
And TV show Lori was all over the place. I don't think Darabont
is good with female characters sadly. Mazzara either. Gimple is
okay but when it comes to continuity he falls flat. Carol's
current arc for example. He is just dragging out her guilt trip
just so she can come back in the end.
S7E010 is the Carol/Daryl reunion, are you going to watch that?

Absolutely. Daryl and Carol are the only ones that are keeping
       me loyal to this show.
I love The Walking Dead, but I've hated the last two seasons.
It deserves all the criticisms and low ratings.
