The Current State of The Walking Dead

What's everyone's opinion on the current state of The Walking
Dead.
Personally, I tuned out during season 7A, but I've heard the
Lucille scene from the season premiere was brutal, and many fans
were upset with the level of gore and violence. Ratings for the
show have also noticeably declined.
The addition of Negan to the show has also been sharply
criticized. Many fans think Jeffrey Dean Morgan is too thin to
play the role. Other's think he's too cartoonish.
The Tara episode was sharply criticized for being too boring,
and I believe it was the lowest rated episode in the show's
history.
Does anyone think season 7B will turn it around, or will the
ratings continue to decline?

7B will no doubt turn things around, because another reason
people tuned out was because they hated seeing Rick in such a
compromising situation. So now that the family finally has their
fight back I'm sure people are going to tune back in just to see
them take out Negan.

I think the show's rating's will increase a bit, but it won't be
like the numbers from the earlier seasons. A lot of fans are
still mad with the cliffhangers and the storylines.

Yes the storylines have been all over the place. I think its
because there are too many shitty writers not doing the
characters justice.
