       Attack or Negotiate

       Rick originally wanted to attack the cops in Grady Memorial
       Hospital to save Beth and Carol, but Tyreese convinced him to
       negotiate.
       Rick, with Noah's help, captured three cops—one of whom he later
       killed attempting to escape—and contacted their colleagues to
       negotiate a trade:  the two surviving cops for Beth and Carol.
       To be honest, the trade worked until Dawn demanded that Noah be
       returned.  Beth stabbed Dawn with a pair of medical scissors,
       and Dawn shot Beth in the head, killing her instantly (we think!
       :D)  Daryl killed Dawn, and the despondent group shuffled out
       of the hospital, and were reunited with Maggie's group and she
       remembered she had a little sister.  (zing!  :D)
       So, do you think Rick made the right call to negotiate instead
       of attacking Dawn and her cops?

       As a Rick fangirl I've always wondered if Rick's plan would've
       worked out better? They obviously didn't anticipate Dawn wanting
       Noah as part of the deal, so maybe just killing them all was the
       solution?

       Two things here:  I think Tyreese's reluctance to fight made
       Rick consider a peaceful resolution, and I think Rick, being a
       sheriff's deputy, expected some professional courtesy from
       fellow police officers.  Unfortunately, Dawn was a control
       freak, and her sudden demand to have Noah returned wound up with
       Beth and herself dead.
       I'd have liked to have seen the group attack, but that idea may
       have been too soon after Terminus.
