       MWL drew this comic page in which Sophia finds the injured and
       unconscious Daryl and wakes him up as the two walkers stagger
       towards them.
       So if this scenario actually happened on the show, what do you
       think would've happened with Sophia after she was reunited with
       Carol?  How would she have progressed as a character?

       I personally think Daryl would've become an adoptive father to
       Sophia. They would have a very strong bond which would only make
       that bond between him and Carol stronger.

       Yes, I also think Daryl would've become Sophia's adoptive
       father; he and Carol would've gotten closer faster, and would've
       become an official couple in season 3.
       Carol would've gotten stronger faster and make Sophia take gun
       training, but I think Sophia would've been too scared to learn.
       Sophia and Carl would've gotten closer, as he was very worried
       about her; they'd be "boyfriend and girlfriend" at the start of
       season 4.  Sophia has grown more confident and is a "big sister"
       to Lizzie and Mika.
       David and Karen get the flu and Carol kills them to protect
       Sophia and the group.  Unfortunately, Sophia gets sick.  Daryl
       leads a group to get medical supplies, while Rick and Carol go
       to the suburbs to raid medicine cabinets.  Rick exiles Carol,
       refusing to let her come back and say goodbye to Sophia.  Sophia
       dies of the flu and is put down by a devastated Hershel.
       Daryl returns too late and is despondent by Sophia's death.
       When Rick tells Daryl that he exiled Carol for killing Karen and
       David, Daryl punches him.  The two fight until the Governor and
       his new group attack the prison.
       Things progress more or less the same up towards the season 6
       finale.

       I like your idea a lot better than what we got.
