I like that Daryl senses that Spencer is up to no good.
Is Rick being arrogant? He seems dismissive towards the
opinions of others.
That scene in the show were Deanna ended up a walker and outside
Alexandria was poor writing. She would've been torn apart by
those walkers.

Rick is definitely being arrogant but that's because he's trying
to focus on the mission instead of worrying about Carl, which
will be put to the test.
And because that scene of Deanna ending up in the woods with no
explanation made no sense, I decided to come up with a better
reason of explaining it. Having Spencer release her into the
woods cause he doesn't have the heart to put her down cause he
isn't ready to say goodbye. I always had a feeling he did that
anyway because he seemed to know exactly where to find her.

The sun shone bright in the clear blue morning sky as Carol
walked out of the house and sat on the porch steps. Out of the
corner of her eye she noticed the A stamp that Sam had left on
the porch's railing beside her. It wasn't the first time she'd
noticed it and neither would it be the last.
Seeing it now left an empty feeling inside of her that she
couldn't ignore and despite her strong will not to feel anything
she couldn't hold back the tears that suddenly flooded her eyes.
She put her head down and wiped them away wanting to forget
about everything but she knew but she couldn't. At this point
she was even considering taking Daryl up on his offer to talk
but she knew he had just left on a supply run with Rick and some
of the others.
She exhaled slowly and deep with her eyes closed for the moment,
taking in the fresh morning air and trying to cleanse her
thoughts until she heard a voice speak to her.
"Carol," the voice said. She opened her eyes and looked up to
see Morgan standing right in front of her. "Carol," he said
again.
She looked up at him, her eyes narrowed and her mouth a straight
line. She didn't want to say a single word to this man.
"Carol, we need to talk," Morgan said urgently.
In return Carol found herself chuckling at his words and
thinking what a damn fool he is to even try talking to her after
what happened between them. Still there was an intense
expression of concern across Morgan's face that told her he was
only worried about whether she'd rat on him or not.
"I don't want to talk to you," Carol said coldly as she put her
head down. "Just go away."
"But Carol," Morgan said again as he stood there with his stick
in one hand standing over Carol like a dark shadow.
"I said go away!" Carol suddenly snapped as her head shot up,
looking him directly in the eyes now her expression full of
rage.
And with that Morgan said nothing more and just walked away. He
was feeling like a defeated man at this point, confused about
the path he'd chosen and even more worried about Rick's reaction
when he'd find out what he did. Morgan had a feeling that Rick
would probably banish him for good and he wouldn't blame him for
it too.
But there was something in Carol's eyes beyond the anger he'd
seen that told him that she wasn't going to tell Rick or the
others, instead what he'd seen made him even more curious to
find out why she would keep this a secret at all. He didn't know
her as well as Rick but what he saw was a strong woman who
appeared to be just as confused in this world as he was. But the
anger in her voice also said that he'd be better off leaving her
be for a while. She needed time to get over the death of that
child and possibly everything else she'd been keeping bottled up
inside all this time.

Morgan went from one extreme to another in that sense, and yeah
I too hated the black and white flashbacks. I hope we never get
stuck with those again.

Meanwhile Maggie was in the kitchen of hers and Glenn's home
getting ready to feed Judith when Enid started coming down the
stairs quietly and making her way to the front door when all of
sudden Maggie caught her and asked her where she was going.
Enid looked like a deer caught in headlights as she stood there
staring back at Maggie.
"You don't have to sneak around like that here," Maggie told
her. "You're free to do what you want and go where you want. I'm
not gonna stop you. Besides, I did my own fair share of sneaking
out myself when I was younger. Sometimes you just have to get
away and I get that. Where were you headed anyway?"
"Just outside," Enid answered her eyes still wide. "And by
outside I mean inside the walls. I know you and Glenn want me to
be safe."
Maggie smiled softly. "I don't care if you go outside the walls.
I know you know how to take care of yourself, so if you're
worried about worrying me, don't. But if you don't mind, I was
gonna ask if you could help me with Judith. She's gonna need a
bath after she eats."
Enid managed a half smile even though she trusted Maggie and
even felt a little more closer with her now, but still it was
strange moving in with her and Glenn. It was nothing at all like
when she was living with Olivia. Then again Olivia didn't seem
to show much concern for her the way Glenn and Maggie had.
Enid walked into the kitchen where Judith was sitting in a
highchair looking around curiously as Maggie picked up a jar of
baby food and began twisting the cap off.
"Carrots," Maggie read the label aloud and made a disgusted
face. "I don't know how she can eat this garbage."
Enid tried to hold back from laughing and let out a little
giggle. Maggie looked at her and smiled and then proceeded to
get a spoonful of the baby food and pop it right into Judith's
mouth.
"Are you ready to be a mom?" Enid suddenly asked Maggie. "What I
mean is did you ever want to?"
Maggie bit down on her lip while she pondered the thought.
"I never thought about it much," Maggie finally answered while
she stared at Judith's little cherub face which was covered in
carrot mush.
"But a lot of things have happened that I wasn't ready for. Some
bad and some good."
"I wasn't ready to lose my parents," Enid said. "To end up on my
own. I wasn't ready for any of it."
"Me either," Maggie sighed as she thought about Hershel and Beth
as well as everyone else they lost.
"None of us were ready for the world to end."
"It didn't end," Enid corrected her. "It just changed."

Re: No Way Out: The Aftermath

After about half an hour worth of driving, Rick and his small
group finally made it to their first destination. It was a white
medium sized building with an office in the front with an old
shelter for the homeless located in the back.
But based on what Eugene said, he guessed the food pantry would
also be found in the back of the building so that's where Rick
and the others decided to park their vehicles. The parking lot
itself wasn't completely deserted either as there were a few old
beat down looking cars sitting in it, a sure indication that
people had probably come to this place seeking shelter and never
left.
Seeing this now, Rick wasn't so sure there was anything left
for them to take. If the people had stayed here they would've
eaten up all the food by now and either starved to death and
became walkers or left the place while abandoning their
vehicles. Still whatever the reason, Rick was still determined
to find out and see if there was anything left. He and the
others gathered around in front of the single door at the back
trying to figure out some kind of plan to get in there without
unleashing whatever herd might be left inside.
"There aren't any windows back here," Rick pointed out. "So
there's no telling how many walkers are inside."
Suddenly Daryl walked right up to the door and pounded on it
with his fist and listened as he was met with muffled growling
and banging coming from the other side.
"Sounds like a bunch of em," Daryl commented looking back at
Rick. "Door's locked too."
"How do we get inside now?" Spencer asked while Rosita started
searching the ground around them with her eyes until she caught
sight of just the thing she was looking for.
"A paperclip," she announced as she knelt down and picked it up
then began bending and pulling it apart forming it into the
shape of a V.
"Wait, what?" Glenn looked confused until he watched Rosita walk
up to the door and insert the ends of the paperclip into the
knobs key hole.
"Alright , we're going to take them out one at a time," Rick
suddenly announced. "Glenn, you, Spencer, and Rosita get behind
the door. Daryl, you and Aaron spread out. Get your knives
ready. We've got to draw them right to us."
Glenn looked back at Rick and awaited his signal then he quickly
opened the door and one of the walkers rushed out followed by
many more who were now pushing themselves up against the door
trying to get out. Glenn gritted his teeth and he, Rosita, and
Spencer began pushing back trying to keep the herd from
escaping.
"Rick, I think there's too many of them," Glenn called out as he
struggled to keep the door closed.
Daryl quickly charged the one walker that got out stabbing it in
the head with his knife and then looked at Rick who seemed to be
some place else at the moment. He blinked staring off into space
as sweat dripped off his forehead. His face tensed up and
suddenly he was back in Alexandria wearing his walker
camouflaged sheet in the cold dead of night surrounded by
walkers.
"Dad?" He heard Carl say as he looked up and saw his son
standing before him, his right eye missing and blood gushing
from the socket.
"Rick!" Glenn suddenly yelled awakening him from his dream
state.
"We can't hold them back much longer!"
"We need a new plan," Rosita called out. "Like right now!"
Rick blinked again as his heart was pounding in his chest.
"Let em out," he finally gave the word as Glenn, Rosita, and
Spencer backed away letting the herd pour out of the building.
Rick suddenly pulled out his colt python and began taking them
out. Daryl pulled out his revolver and began joining in along
with Aaron. Rosita pulled out her knife and began stabbing some
of the walkers in the head as they tried to come at her and
Spencer.
Glenn also pulled out his knife and joined in and soon they were
all looking at yet another pile of walkers. For the moment it
felt like they never even left Alexandria, that whole exhausting
feeling of deja vu. But now the door was open and they were free
to venture inside and see what was left to take back home, if
anything at all was left.
Rick was the first to walk in but he knew there was a chance
they'd find more walkers inside. It was a large room stocked
full of shelves and boxes, and just as Rick had guessed, people
had been staying here. There were wrinkled dirty sleeping bags
on the floor next to old lanterns and bags of clothes. Empty
cans littered the floor all over as Rick kicked one of them over
with the toe of his boot.
"Check the boxes on the shelves," Rick said to Daryl and the
others as they came in behind him.
Daryl walked to the back where he could see a large box sitting
on the bottom shelf but he stopped and turned to see some kind
of message scrawled across the wall next to him. It read "No
help coming." Daryl then turned his attention back to the large
box and pulled it out to inspect its contents when all of a
sudden Spencer walked right past him and noticed the message on
the wall.
"Did you find anything?" Rick called over to Daryl who was still
looking in the box.
"Nothing to eat," Daryl answered him. "Looks like a bunch of
toothpaste and dental floss."
"Grab it," Rick ordered him. "If its something we can use we'll
take it."
"What about the offices up front?" Glenn suddenly asked.
"Shouldn't we check those out too? I've donated to places like
this before, and sometimes they have food sitting up front."
"Maybe," Rick replied. "But there's a chance its already gone."
"Found something else," Daryl announced as he pulled out another
crate. "Some boxes of rice, ramen noodles, and other stuff these
people couldn't eat while livin here."
"Alright," Rick alerted the others. "Load up whatever you can
find, we need to get going so we can make the next stop. It's
gonna take at least an hour to get there."
Daryl lifted the crate off the ground and started carrying it
out the door as Rick did another sweep of the room to make sure
he wasn't missing anything. He kicked over some more cans and
then out of the corner of his eye noticed something sticking out
from under one of the sleeping bags and knelt down to pull it
out. It was a small stack of comic books and most definitely the
kind Carl would enjoy reading once he woke up so Rick took them
and tucked them under his arm before walking out of the building
and closing the door behind him.

They're not the fresh grown ones she's used to. This is carrot
mush which is pretty gross.

I just read the latest addition to the story.
I liked Daryl's outside the box thinking. I also liked that
Rosita trumped Glenn the Scavanger by using a paperclip to get
inside the food bank. Further proof that Glenn was the one who
got Lucilled.
Good idea about bringing back Rick's PTSD.
How did the people living in the food bank die? There was still
food, so they couldn't have starved, and if they'd have left if
things were getting desperate.
