Daryl & Carol Not Talking
By: Rapscallion Date: March 21, 2016, 9:28 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
One of the disappointing things about this episode is that Daryl
and Carol didn't talk to each other like I hoped.
I don't exactly mean admitting their feelings for each
other—that would've been sweet—but Daryl wasn't checking up on
Carol like I expected. It seemed like this could've been a
season 2 episode.

TBH I'm amazed we even got them interacting at all in this
episode, not once but twice. I'm just glad it was Carol helping
Daryl bury Denise at the end.

Yeah, seems like Richonne is the ship for this season.
Maybe Daryl wanted to give Carol some space. The last time they
were in this situation was after Terminus. Carol said she
didn't want to talk about it, and Daryl said that was alright.
I hope they haven't forgotten that psychology book Daryl took
from the women's shelter, I'd like to see Daryl use it to help
Carol deal with her troubles.

Honestly I wonder what Daryl is going to think when he finds out
that Carol has been with Tobin. It's bound to hurt his feelings
or make him jealous right?

I can tell you it hurts me!
Carol was seeing Tobin in secret, but I think she'll tell Daryl
about that and I think he'll understand.
Daryl might admit he wasn't there for Carol like he should've
been. He put Alexandria ahead of her. Daryl has often told
Carol they can start over, and she'll finally be ready to do
that.

I just have a bad feeling we won't get anymore Caryl interaction
until season 7.

We should've seen Caryl and Richonne start when the group
reached Alexandria in 6A!
Now in 6B, we finally get Richonne, but apparently no Caryl?
I'm disgusted.

Could be that Gimple has Caryl planned for season 7, who knows?
I'd like to hope they aren't just stringing all these people
along for a ride.

Here's an interesting fan observation I found on Tumblr courtesy
of fellow Caryler, illusination.
When Daryl said "hey" and Carol turned around to look at him
after leaving him on the porch, the look on her face was
heartbreaking. The anguish and tears in her eyes are exactly
what Melissa was talking about. Carol can't keep up the mask
with him looking at her or asking after her. It also looked
like she was saying goodbye by leaving him the cigarettes. THAT
PAIN WAS LITTERALY PALPABLE.
I never noticed that Carol left her pack of cigarettes for
Daryl, but remember when I thought Carol and the cigarettes
might be one of the "small gifts" Norman and Melissa always talk
about? Looks like I was right.

I never noticed this either, but it makes sense she would leave
one last gift to him before leaving.
Also it doesn't sound like he's looking for her at all in this
upcoming episode. I'm gonna wonder now if he even knows she's
gone.
