One of Rick's best moments was when he killed Gareth in the
manner that he promised. 8)

Without a doubt, yes! I cheered so loudly you would've thought I
was watching football or something but nope just over Rick
hacking Gareth to pieces <3

Notice how Gareth tries threats, psychology, pity, hunger, and
pleading to save his life, but all to no avail. The experience
in Terminus changed Rick and we see that continuing in season 6.

Yeah it sounded like the five stages of grief before he finally
accepted that he was a dead man. He had it coming and so did his
cronies too.
Rick ran out of fucks to give and I don't blame him. It was
actually kind of disgusting how Gareth sat there and tried to
justify the things they've done.

Well, Gareth didn't accept what Rick was about to do.
First, Gareth threatened to fire into the office where Rick's
kids were hiding. Then he tried to psyche Rick into why he
spared them. Then Gareth mentioned the beatings the vandals
inflicted on his people, then he said his people were hungry,
whereas Rick's group was fed. Lastly, Gareth pleaded he
wouldn't cross paths with Rick again if he was spared.
None of Gareth's mind games worked on Rick.

Yeah he said he wouldn't cross paths with Rick or his people
again but like Rick said he'd cross someone's path and Rick
couldn't allow that.

I also enjoyed Martin's reaction when he finally surrendered his
weapon. That's the moment when he realized he joined the wrong
team, and now it was going to cost him his life.
