"Welcome to Woodbury"

The first appearance of the Governor, and the town of Woodbury.
Talk about them here.

The introduction of the Governor was an improvement over the
comic version IMO. He wasn't over the top but just insane enough
that it worked. I loved David Morrisey's portrayal a lot. He
really made that character terrifying and real.

I see the Governor as the anti-Rick. The Woodburians looked to
Phillip for leadership, but it went to his head, and the death
of his daughter Penny, placed him on the road to madness. Rick
could've easily winded up just like him.

I think so too especially if he lost Carl. But later on Rick did
become more like the Governor especially when he talked with
Daryl and Carol about taking Alexandria.

Not quite the same thing. Rick saw the Alexandrians were weak
(they were) and poorly lead (in some ways). Those combinations
get people killed in the walker apocalypse. Also, whatever
plans Rick was considering for Alexandria were abandoned when he
fought Pete over Jessie.
In that case, Rick was more like Shane.

Definitely a lot like Shane but he'd definitely taken on
characteristics of all his enemies. He mirrored Gareth's words
to Bob in "Coda" for sure.
But yeah the whole Jessie thing just threw him off kilter. And
it was like he was seeing Lori again because he never got
closure with her.

One thing about Woodbury that I've wondered about is what
happened to Rowan, the Governor's lover before Andrea showed up.
My theory is that Rowan drove the walker bomb truck in the
episode "Home," but she never reappeared after her debut. I
would've been interesting to see her reaction as the Governor
and Andrea became closer.

I always assumed she was killed offscreen, so its possible she
could've been the one who drove that truck.

The driver of the walker bomb truck was a woman, and she
survived the skirmish.
Maybe Rowan left Woodbury when she saw the Governor had wooed
Andrea; she knew the Governor was done with her and didn't want
to end up amongst his collection of walker heads. :-X

Possible but then again we will never know. I kind of hate that
sometimes and I especially hated that they did it to Shumpert.
