pCars retro series- not another dry track cookie cutter series..
..

If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
We run a GT series that only runs in perfect conditions. It's a
cookie cutter series that a lot of other group also run. It's
fun for what it is, results in close racing and it is very
approachable and easy to drive. There's nothing wrong with this
sort of series and it attracts people because it's easy. But I
want something more.
-pCars for rain.
-real damage
-random weather
-clutch and h-shifter
-hard as hell
-long (1-2 hours) races
-penalties for not using clutch and not using an h-shifter
This is the sort of racing I like, so this is the planning stage
for a VSCR pCars series to be held on Tuesdays at 18:00 GMT on a
variety of pCars tracks- retro and modern.
Anyone want in? Let me know what cars grab you. I am very
partial to either Group 5 or BMW M1 cars.

I'll join.
I just got Pcars so I dont know which cars I like best yet.
Ashton Martin GT is a car I have driven that I like.
I do know that I'd prefer a 1 hour race over a 2 hour.
I dont have a clutch pedal or H-shifter, perhaps I will buy a
better wheel soon.

I have gotten no interest in this at all. I don't think it's
going to happen, everyone just wants good weather and GT3 I
guess. If anyone else shows interest we'll do it but so far you
are the only person to post anything.

I suspect there is only one other person who picked up PCars.

Simon has it. I think more got it too. Not sure. Either way,
it was an idea but suh a hard series would be hard to find
people for.

I'd be in for 1 hour races on Tuesday evenings. There may be
occasions, due to work, where I can't make it but that would be
pretty rare.
I'd be up for:
BMW M1
Group 5
Group A
or some of the vintage open wheelers....

The rain in pCars is pretty awesome. Much better than rF2. I
have been messing around with random weather and retro cars
against AI. I like that the rain collects on the windscreen,
the windshield wiper work and the spray too. I posted this in a
thread in the pCars forum but so far there aren't any responses.
I don't feel that AC reflects the essence of what this league
was supposed to represent when we began. We started with random
weather, lots of damage and varied length races. With AC we've
dumbed it down and now we have no one on the grid AND lost how
we began our racing. rF2 never really panned out because the
rain in rF2 is seriously flawed and at this late stage there's
still no rain on the windshield and the rain grip is VERY buggy.
AC is an arcade driving sim with no weather but great dry
physics and terribly designed for racing. So far pCars is by
far the best sim for non-ideal weather.

We're going for 9:00 PM EST
there's a preference for h-shifter and manual clutch, but if you
do not have them, you can still race. If you have them, I ask
that you use them even though there's a natural penalty for
using them (missed shifts, slower shifts etc)
