Did a quick test of pit stops this morning. Refueling and tire
changes happen concurrently. Tire change happens much slower
than refueling, so if you plan on doing a tire change don't
carry a full fuel load. You should also practice a pit stop or
two. You need to stop in your pit box for the menu to come up,
then you need to choose what you want re. tires, fuel , repair,
and hit confirm before the work starts. Messing up in these
steps can cost more time than the pit stop itself. The entrance
to the pits is tight hitting the walls on the entrance can be a
major faux paux. ( don't ask me how I know this ;) ).

After my monday practice, I am almost down to the 41's in race
trim. I can run in the 42's all day long. I think this race
will be quickest with a pit stop. It's hard to be sure since I
don't have that tire app anymore (I need to find a better app
for the shape the tires are in- anyone have a link for me?) but
this race will be longer than I thought it would be and the
tires will be shot at the end of an hour.

Well for me the tires were getting pretty long in the tooth
after 30 minutes. I was using the mediums. I have not tried the
hard tires to see if they are a viable solution. Also is it
possible to have enough gas in the car for a no pit stop race?

Gas is no problem for the full distance.
I was able to do a full 35 lap run on a set of mediums, running
consistent mid 43s. Fastest lap was lap 34. Tire degradation
was balanced out by lightened fuel load.
