After a long thought process and input from the sporting as well
as the commercial side of the team I have decided to switch from
the Merc to the new Aston Martin. Unfortunately, the support
from Mercedes this season is not what I have come to expect. I
owe it to all the guys in the shop as well as all the sponsors
to put on the best performance I can. I feel our new partner,
Aston Martin, will help us achieve those goals. I'm not ruling
out a future return to Mercedes, our relationship is still on
good terms. The new car, like our old one, is powered by an AMG
engine and so our ties remain strong.
