Nice job guys...great skins.
Did some work on the Mclaren. Saved it as 2k instead of the
default 4k...it is good enough.... I think... ;)

Last one for a few days now, because i have exams in the
upcoming week. if anyone wants to use a skin, just ask. should
there be anything you want to have removed, changed or added
(like name, number, etc.), i would do that aswell.

After our Stress test it is clear that the join lag is caused by
the skin transfer. Those who were uploading 4K skins made the
network usage spike significantly for a second or so. With each
new driver joining the server needs to transfer every new custom
skin to the new driver. The more drivers the more data needs to
be transferred to each driver. The effect was smaller with 2K
skins but not nearly as dramatic. Once the skins have been
transferred a driver can disconnect and reconnect without
causing the lag again, unless new drivers connected since the
disconnect. In that case the skin must be distributed to the new
drivers and the new drivers skin given to the reconnecting
driver.
A skin pack may help alleviate this problem, however, my opinion
is that is not worth the effort of packing a skin into an rfmod.
If drivers change their skin then they still have to transfer
the new skin upon first logging in. If they change their skin
the skin pack has to be changed then to the newest skin. In
either case to avoid any further join lag the drivers must stick
with the same skin for the remainder f the series. Again, not
worth the effort as any changes (or additional drivers to the
series) void all the work.
I think once the drivers have all met often enough they skins
will transfer through the natural way the game works and the
join lag will diminish over time.
But all that being said. Please use 2K skins when you build and
create your custom skins. That will help eliminate the lag in
the first place.

hey seb can you link me the kodak merc one? i really liked the
"colourness" of it.

Hi guys, I would like to suggest to save the skins as 2k (2048 x
2048). The original ones are 4k and with big grids FPS and
smoothness start to suffer.
