Engine Mixture, when less is more
By: Tech G Date: August 31, 2017, 8:42 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
So I have been doing some practice for a 12 hr race I am doing
at Spa in a couple of weeks using the Apex mod (much improved by
the way if you haven't tried it yet). Being a little way off the
pace I noticed the fast guys where at least 10 kph faster than
me at the end of the main straight. I tried everything, but
nothing worked, until for fun I tried the engine lean mix and it
worked! Faster top speed and better acceleration generally
🤔.
So, this got me thinking, what Engine Mix does everyone use
here? I basically use power 3 everywhere, but I don't really
understand what each of the mixtures do, or what affect they
have on performance.

I think I've been using race 3 mix in all conditions. Need to
check that.

I used to use a race-setting, but now I'm on Power 1. I haven't
noticed in URD that a leaner mix is a faster mix.

I think the lean mix thing is an Apex bug. What really want to
know is does the 1 or 3 mix provide best performance? And is
race mix better than power mix.

rated 1 to 12 ish 1 being safety car and up from there power 3
on URD or highest it goes is leanest 1 like driving old car with
choke on and parachute on back :)
So clicking plus reduces the petrol adds more air = more power
:) And higher temps too :)
