Hey guys . New to the site and an on and off again rFactor racer
. I come from a background of driving real race cars in my youth
so I am very happy to be here to learn off of some very talented
people I have met out in the virtual race world so far . Simming
and the real thing are completely different venues . The real
thing is a lot easier to drive .
Here is a list of cars raced and titles won in the real world
       from back in the 80's
1983 Honda Civic .Honda Michelin Series Car . 2nd Place Regional
       Champion
1984-1983 Honda Michelin Series Car . B Class Champion as I
used the 1983 car 2 seasons.
       1985 Honda Michelin Champion . 1985 Honda Civic . More than 50
       competitors
1986 GM Players Challenge 2nd place finish overall with more
       than 70 competitors . IROC Z Camaro
1987 Gm Players Challenge 10th place end of season finish .
       1987 Rothman's Porsche Series . 944 Porsche . Ran out of money
so was unable to complete series . Only did 4 races that summer
. Best race was in the rain from 17th on the grid to a 5th place
       finish .
1987 I was invited to do a few guest races in the Honda Michelin
Series which I enjoyed immensely .
       1987 .Drove in Escort Endurance Series in a 1986 C4 Corvette .
Was the lead driver for the team . I qualified car and started
races and did all night drives which I really enjoyed with a
24hr at Mosport and a 24hr at Mid Ohio . I have no idea were we
finished other than we did finish the 24hr races . The C4 was
banned from the Ecort Endurance series because of there speed
and durability . Nothing stayed with the Corvette's period .
What a dream to drive and race ...
1988 Escort Endurance series driving a CRX Honda Civic . We did
well in this car . I was lead driver again and we had a 3 car
team for a 24hr at Mosprt and we finished 1,2,3 all from one
team . A great accomplishment by a huge amount of people
involved . Well over 100 different cars on the track also . Fun
as hell . I think we were called GT3 cars at the time with GT2
and GT1's of course . These were considered showroom stock cars
       all with minor modifications .
1989 did a few more Endurance races with a few different teams
and was lucky enough to qualify cars for races and start races .
The starts are my favorite lol and of coarse as I mentioned ,
night drives . Most teams have 3 to 4 drivers for 12 and 24hr
       races .
1990 and 1991 my career was slowing down . My last 2 races were
in an Acura Integra and I won the first race in the rain and
finished 2nd in the next race . Our team did no more races due
to a conflict in sponsorship on our cars so my helmet was hung
up and now , 25 , 30 years later I am back into driving in a sim
       .
In my second year of racing I received the nickname Rocket when
I was out qualifying A class Honda Civics in a B Class Honda
Civic with 15 less hp lol .
I hope you don't mind but I posted that nickname as my forum
name and I use it also on a few other forums as I have vintage
bikes that are fast as hell also .
       I also own a 1995 ZR-1 Corvette. 415 HP . Yes . The King Of the
Hill with the legendary Lotus LT5 32 Valve Mercruiser Monster
Engine . They are everything and more of what you have read or
heard about if you guys know anything about this car .
       Outstanding car !
       Also just got a 2008 C6 Coupe with an LS3 430hp engine . Winter
came early so I cannot tell you yet how it drives as I have not
even driven it yet . Can't wait for spring.
On that I will finish and hope I did not bore you guys of my
       youth escapades .
Looking forward to getting my ass kicked by you awesome simmers
and some good racing again .I will never go as fast as you guys
but it has been a very long time and I miss it greatly .
       Rocket

Welcome to the league Rocket. Well your resume is quite long and
impressive. I won a potato sack when I was six or so. I also
took first place in the Boy Scouts Pine wood derby when I was in
grade school. 3 years in a row. The old man had mostly to do
with that I think. Outside of those championships I dont think
I've won anything else. I look forward to having another racer
ahead of me on the grid.
If you have any questions let us know. If you are planning on
joining us for the upcoming APEX Mod GT3 Series let us know
which car you plan on using and we'll add you to the roster. You
       can sign up here:

Sadly I checked the times and my schedule will not allow time to
do the series ... Hopefully see some of you out and about on the
       tracks now and then .

Sorry to hear that Mike. Is this Mike Rivet? We're always
around. The regulars in this league are online pretty much
daily. I've been messing around in R3E, Assetto, and PCARS too.
I think once the holidays are over we will be even more active.
We are going to try and host races midweek nights and also
Saturday races (less official, no series.) Tom hosted a race in
Assetto recently and there were a lot of attendees. I also setup
a similar race in PCARS as a comparison. I restricted it to 20
drivers and the room filled up in a few minutes. You are in the
steam group so you should see announcements. You can also check
       in here.

Well Mike. Sorry to hear you wont be able to join us for the
Sunday races. But I understand real life > Sim racing. Hope you
can join some of the other non-points series races though.
Hope to see you on track in the future.
