       research it appears it's simply to get inventory moving, no
       concerns about coming "updates" "

       I went ahead and bought one from Amazon.  Been wanting one for a
       while and I have been waiting for the price to go down.

       They need to drop the price around tax time. That is when I will
       have money to spend. So.. Far... Away.... But want now.
       It will be interesting to see if the price drop will allow the
       Rift to catch up to the Vive's adoption rate. Even at half the
       price the Vive is still more attractive to me than the Rift.

       Will need to check it once I get home. Not sure if my gtx 970
       would be up to the job either...No extra cash to buy a new gpu
       atm.

       I beilieve the GTX 970 is the lowest Card allowed by Oculus to
       have a smooth VR experience. It s the same level of card as my
       R9 290.

       Actually I think the minimum GPU is the GTX 960.  But I don't
       know what they mean by "Alternative Graphics Card" in this link

       i do that to every 6 months tax for me now. one due this month
       so hoping enough with my save money for my OSW kit plus wheel
