you're better off to switch over now before you are required to
update. The server will be updated when it is available. If
you're not already on Steam by that time you won't be able to
race online with us
That all being said, I don't really care for using steam as the
front end either. I'm hoping when Studio 397 releases their next
update it will include a UI update which will be significantly
more useful.

I made the switch to Steam a couple of days ago and have moved
the old install files from my SSD to the 1TB HDD on my system so
if I need anything from those folders they are not deleted. I'm
ready for whatever Steam brings.
