Monitor Cable - DisplayPort or HDMI or DVI?

I read recently that DisplayPort and HDMI are limited to 60 Hz.
If that's the case, having a graphics card that can run rF2 at
over 100 fps is kind of pointless. Am I missing something? What
cables are people using and what advantages/disadvantages do
they have?

My Triples are connected through 2 DVI and 1 Displayport (Using
an active DVI to DP adapter) I have not heard any negative
things about using DVI or DP. But I am not a video techie. I
think as the display technology improves we will see faster and
faster data transfer speeds and those connectors will be left in
the dust. But we are not there yet and I think anything above
VGA is acceptable as a connection type.
Maybe someone more experienced in these things could comment.

i'm using 1 display port 1 hdmi and 1 dvi
think that is more to do with TV's some old hdmi ports did only
support 60hz

It depends on your monitor, majority of monitors can only do 59
or 60Hz, if yours can do, than you need to worry about the
cable, Displayport (DP) and HDMI are not locked to any
frequency, its about the maximum data bandwith these cables are
able to put thru. So the frequency limitation is stated against
a specific resolution... Simply said, for example this and that
cable can only put thru 60Hz at 4K, but 120Hz at 1080p. That
said, there are many versions of DP and HDMIs (HDMI 1.0, 1.1.
,1.6, 2.0, 2.1) blah blah.. and each iteration can put thru
higher data bandwith.. so.. that
That said, DVI is by far the slowest (has the lowest data
bandwith) out of the three no matter the version.

MikeeCZ, you're right that the article I read said 60 Hz "at
4K". Makes sense that it's a data transfer rate limit.
My monitor can do 120 Hz. But it is just HD (1920x1080) so
hopefully that means that a DP or HDMI cable could drive it at
120 HZ as long as my graphics card can do 120 fps or more.
Chad and Simon, interesting that you are running DIFFERENT
cables to different monitors. I realize that's probably just a
function of what ports are available. But good to know that it
works.
Once I get an Oculus, it won't matter anymore anyway! ;D

and on the monitor side im using 1 dvi and 2 hdmi in's
