Creaking Branches of a Tree.

Before the time that of man and creature roamed the lands and
seas the earth shifted and nestled together as if it knew where
to settle and form. As the land grew a mountain began to form
and emerge from the grounds raising the dirt, trees and all that
grew with it. Many who settle around the area know not to dwell
so close to the winding trails that lead to the mountain for all
they know is of a grumpy old spirit of Osag that roams the area.
All but one is close to the bear spirit, Wynn, who is currently
rolling around on the fur skins that she had placed on the
ground for comfort. It wasn't needed of course but she might as
well make the place as one would call, homely.
She was currently in her cub form as the air outside grew more
brisk day by day and even with the fur coat she wasn't used to
all that was on earth. The wind howled outside making the noise
of branches and causing the tree branches to creak. Osag wasn't
in the cave at the moment but scouting out the area for those
that wished harmed and didn't belong. With that in mind, Wynn
quickly grew bored and poked her head out of the cave in time to
see the sun rise over the horizon casting rays of pinks and
purples into the sky. The moon could still be seen in the
shadows and a few twinkling starts, causing Wynn to let a
sorrowful moan. If only she knew how to visit her mother and
friends of the twinkling space.

Wynn could hear the sound of approaching footsteps as Kindrianna
made no secret of her approach. The determined half-Elf tromped
along with a heavy satchel slung over her shoulder, both hands
wrapped tightly around the leather strap. Her hood had been
pulled up to help protect her from the chilly early morning air,
and coyote furs were draped around her shoulders. She was always
up and about early in the morning, unable to sit still after a
night of frantic thinking and restless sleep.
"Wynn?" she called out. It was as close to a whispered yell as
she could manage. She wasn't sure if her friend would even be
awake at this time, but it was worth a try. "Are you up?"
As she moved closer, the smell of raw meat would probably become
apparent to Wynn's nose. Something tasty was in that satchel.

As the wind brushed by both of them, a certain odor could be
smelt, one familiar to any the wandered the wilderness for
long... The stench of rotting flesh. A moment or two would pass
by with the curious odor before the wind would shift, and the
pleasant morning scents returned. Not long after, the loud crack
of a snapping branch would cry out in the morning calm.

Wynn scrunched her nose at a scent that she had picked up in the
air and was just about to head back into the den when her ears
picked up a noise. She kept her head out "Wynn?" She heard and
smelt the aroma of a new scent, one that made her drool just a
bit. Sure she had jerky and some dried berries saved for the
winter but there was nothing like fresh meat. She flicked her
ears back as she would run from out of the cave entrance to that
of where Mouse was shifting to that of fer human form as she did
so. It was easier to hug that way she learned and less likely to
knock/trip people over. "Mouse!" Her human form had some thin
leather and fur around her shoulders her wild hair blew with the
morning breeze.

Mouse accepted the embrace without question. Her attention had
temporarily been drawn elsewhere when the wind had revealed such
an unpleasant scent to them. Her nose wrinkled, and her ears
twitched. She tried to turn her head in the direction of the
snapping branch. "You heard that, right Wynn? I'm not imagining
that?"
Her knuckles turned white as she clutched the satchel of meat
tighter. "Here, take this and hide it in your cave for later. We
might not be alone."

Esther had grown bored of her frolicking in the Ruined Keep,
only temporarily tuckered out of digging holes. Mouse had left
to look for Wynn after playing tag with Esther in her fisher cat
form. Boy that was fun! Esther had decided to explore more and
ventured ever closer towards the way of Osag's Den. Esther
didn't really have any planned way to go or to adventure to,
that was until she had smelled something weird. It was pungent
and made Esther's nose hurt, so she had shifted back into her
human form where the smell wasn't so harsh on her nose. She knew
this scent she felt, the smell of flesh returning to the Earth.
She continued in the direction of where she thought the smell
was coming from, venturing deeper into Osag's Den. However, once
she got to what she believe to be a cave, the smell vanished and
all she could smell was morning dew and grass.
She also heard voices and peering around the edge of a giant
boulder, she saw Wynn and Mouse realizing that she had in fact
found Osag's actual den. He wasn't all that fun, but sometimes
Esther would just lay on the lumbering giant's back with him
seemingly uncaring while he explored the outer areas looking for
threats. Esther's thoughts were interrupted when she heard a
loud snap of a tree branch, she jumped making a noise of
exclamation and ran straight into Mouse and Wynn, shifting mid
way and hiding in Mouse's cloak. She peeked her little fisher
cat head out looking directly at Wynn, "Hi Wynn!". She looked
around and whispered, "Did you guys hear that?"
