New Space, New Dad (Georgie and Josh)

Much like Claudine is doing the tuckins with the boys tonight, I
get to tuck in the girls. So at Georgie's bedtime I head down to
her bedroom and knock on the door.
"Hey, Georgie. It's Josh." No pressure to call me Dad. She will
when she's ready. "It's about time for bed."

When Josh knocks on my door and announces himself. I had just
finished writing something into my journal. I thought mom was
going to come in and tuck me in but it wasn’t. I grimace a
little bit thinking why she wasn’t. “Uhhh just getting ready.” I
was already in my pajamas which were super soft. The covers
already on me because I get cold easily.

I shake my head a little bit. “I’m already dressed and decent.”
I call back to him. I wasn’t really sure what josh was doing but
he was married to mom.

I enter the room when Georgie says she's already decent. In my
hand are the thermometer, Vaseline, suppository, and butt plug.
"Hey, Kiddo. Mom and I thought we'd switch things up tonight. Is
that alright with you?" I know the boys don't mind their Mom
doing their tuckins but I'm prepared for the girls to feel
differently about me.

My thought on his and her kids is literally in my mind now. It’s
because I honestly felt that way. But here josh was about to do
what mom does. I get butterflies because I’m not used to it.
“Mom told you I get cold right?”
I take a deep breath and let it out slowly. “I guess that’s
okay.”

"Mom didn't tell me that, no," I answer Georgie easily. "But
it's good to know."
She basically agrees about switching things up and I nod.
"Okay." I make eye contact with her and add, "if you want I can
tell your Mom to also peek in and say goodnight. She's with the
boys now but I'm sure she wouldn't mind." At this point I'm not
sure whether she's nervous because of me or would just rather
not lose any time with her mom. Either and both are
understandable.

"That would be nice." I tell Josh when he says that If I want, I
can have mom peek in to say goodnight. "I used to not have to
share mom much, its something im not used too." I say softly.
"Soo this is gonna be weir a littlest." I pause. I look at him
and take a deep breathe.
I grab my blanket to wrap around the top part of me, so I don't
get cold. Something I've always done. "Ughhh uhhh can we get
this done?" I ask wondering.

"Then I'll let her know," I answer Georgie with a reassuring
wink. She says it's gonna be weird and I answer, "I get it,
Georgie. I do. I've never parented girls before, either. There's
a lot that's new for all of us," I point out.
When she asks if we can get this done and I say, "sure thing. Do
you want to lie over my lap or just turn over in bed?"

When Josh says that he will let her know. I do nod. My heart is
beating kinda fast from nerves. He asks about laying over his
lap, or turning in the bed. "I usually go over moms lap." I say
softly. "So so can we stick to whats known?" I ask as I look at
him. "Layin in bed is foreign to foreign."
So I wait for him to do whatever he needs to do. Then I kinda
inch closer.
