Starter Planets?

I've been on Venatus for 4 days, I think?
When I started the first time I died and got the option to
respawn near my pack or restart. I just logged off 'cause it was
late and I was just testing the waters, so to speak.
Next time logged on I only got the option of one starter planet
and didn't get the goody bag of stuff from the pod I got the
first time.
So, is the starter gear a one shot for first timers, or does it
depend on the planet?
I managed with the very basic kit but it took dying 30 odd times
to get to a point where things were a bit stable.
Just saying that if I can get the fast track option again after
the server resets I'd choose that, but not sure if that means
any starter planet or some particular planets.

Yes each time you die you will need to get your backpack items
fairly quickly or it will disappear. By you logging off, your
backpack would have disappeared....causing the problem.
I'm not sure why you only got 1 starter planet as an option
though - again possibly because you logged off and had not
specified where you wanted to respawn... ?
