Can't connect it times out ...

I've never joined a public server and live in brassy the Venatus
server had a ping of about 70 but it times out …. do I need some
other registration done first?
Look forward to playing the game with you guys

g'day i have played this server for the last few weeks then
today after empyrion update i'm getting a timed out error.
have you had any luck logging in?

Yep realized I had experimental ticked from within steam so it
was downloading and installing the latest version … seems the
version numbers have to match …. the server seems to be updating
now to 9.7 I think

well that didn't last long. it started working again but now
devs have reverted game back to 9.6.0 due to some problem with
network.
game version doesn't match server version and i can't log in
again
so close to getting off starter planet.
