Apology to Lantic
By: moedeb27 Date: January 17, 2017, 4:59 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Most people have most likely seen the message and rule update I
made last night re - Cores placed inside asteroids.
In that message I said that those doing this are cheating, I
will say from this point on that will be the case - however it
was NOT the case when it was found yesterday.
[glow=green,2,300]Lantic[/glow] faction were the ones who placed
those bases inside the asteroids however they DID seek a ruling
from an Admin BEFORE placing any of their bases in those
locations. They clearly told the Admin their intentions and the
Admin gave them permission to so on the proviso that they had
all turrets above the surface and therefore able to be shot and
disabled (as in it would no longer be able to cause damage) and
this they did do and therefore DID NOT cheat at all.
I absolutely was not aware of the fact they had been given
permission to do this and therefore offer my biggest apologies
as they did exactly the right thing when they weren't sure on
the legality of a tactic they had discovered they could use and
asked for a ruling, which they got and followed to a T.
Not only do I apologise, but as I destroyed their bases I offer
to replace the resources they used in making those bases.
Anyone referring to this topic and calling Lantic or any of
their members cheats based on this will receive a warning and
asked to apoligise and stop doing so, there is to be no negitive
responses to this message in regards to Lantic.

Thank you Moe, much appreciated. We do appreciate the work and
effort you and the other admins put into the server, thanks
again.

We probably need to update
HTML http://www.venatusaustralia.com/rules/cores-placed-inside-asteroids/msg474<br
/>and rules after this new ruling in that case.
One thing to consider is the repercussions of building cores
inside asteroids, not in regards to combat/tactical advantages
but with respect to maximum structs/ents/cores in a playfield
though, and admin overhead as I am pretty sure the owner of the
core themselves cannot remove the core from inside the asteroid
after the fact as well - meaning when cleanups are done admins
have to look through asteroids individually (if they are renamed
from Base (BA) to something?) or will they continue to pile up
indefinitely until the playfield is filled?

Yep, already thought about that one, and have discussed it.
Sometimes if you spawn in a BP you can't always get the exact
positioning you want anyway, so if people can't access sections
of their bases or whatever and need our help, we can delete them
anyhow to fix such issues.
Andy.
