       I really dont like throwing food away. Somehow it seems vulgar
       and the ultimate symbol of disrespect in a society where
       overconsumption is almost a folk sport. In total we in Denmark
       throw away over  tonnes of food every year that could have been
       eaten. In the past the Danes have said that they would like to
       take food home from the restaurant but that it must be done
       discreetly. Agriculture and Food believes that it should be made
       mandatory for restaurants to suggest it themselves because it is
       easier to accept than to ask for it yourself.
       I think times have indeed changed. Perhaps it is now a positive
       and responsible signal if you clearly point out that you want to
       avoid food waste and bring the food with you I think Danish

       should stop the restaurant itself from offering to pack excess
       food togo . I have just enjoyed a lovely dish of halibut with
       chilli mayonnaise and salad. And my warm thoughts Pastis which
       was not only responsible for my evening meal yesterday but also
       for my delicious lunch at home today. If restaurants themselves
       start offering to go leftovers then I am sure that the extra
       service will result in a lot of good publicity on social media
       and general respect from the guests.
