I was looking around last night on their site...didn't see
anything for the Axis or Edge. Put in a request for a price
quote...haven't heard anything yet.

Stockys is ok. Little high though. I replaced my stock on the
m77 ruger, Looked at stockys, they wanted 234.00 for thumbhole
from bell and carlson. Ended up buying from boyds again for a
74.00 thumbhole.
Stockys is a distributor and if they manufacture, it isn't much
::). Again, as with rifles and accessories, buy what you can
reasonably afford.

I can't get Boyd's to reply to my request for a stock for the
Axis. Been two days now...nothing. I actually want a left
handed thumbhole stock but for a right handed action. Will
Boyd's do something like this?

They can pretty much do what you want. The circumstances with
the Axis primarily deals with the recoil lug. Most manufactures
have yet to design a stock for this rifle as this lug is located
in the stock verses being a fixed part of the action. As I said
in an earlier post, if boyds gets enough request for this rifle,
they will format a plan to make one. Guess we will have to stand
by and see how it unfolds.
I request this one three weeks ago, it is a mako shark stock for
savage rimfires. I'll let you know when I hear from them..

Nice looking stock...what will that cost? Are there any other
aftermarket stock suppliers other than Boyd's and Stocky's? :-\

The mako stock shouldnt run no more than $150.00 at the most.
What I have read about the Edge/Axis, savage almost designed
this rifle with virtually no ability for aftermarket
accessories. I figure that if you know someone that is real good
with wood working, they could do one up with a Sav model 10
blank, it would take some time though. Along with the recoil
lug, the axis stock itself is design for short and long action
all in one. These are the two things that make it a pain in the
butt.

Thanks for the links Donnie L~. If I haven't found one at a
reasonable price...I think I may try to make one myself this
summer. I will have about 90 days off.

Well, if you can manufacture one, you'll be on the way to a
million $$$. Make a second for reference and slap a nice patent
on it.
