Quiet the arsenal indeed....and easy to see you love the Savage
also. What do you find yourself hunting the most?

Can't beat Savage for its accuracy. I use the 17 HM2 50% of the
time. As a child I was raised with Ruger~M-77 270. And have
continued the Ruger tradition for medium to larger game.

Ruger no doubt makes a superb product. I especially like their
handguns. How much difference in the .17HMR, and the .17HM2?

Shot for shot at 100yrds, the HM2 will run hand in hand with the
HMR. The HM2 is the perfect squirrel or rabbit round out to
125yds. However it didnt catch on like the HMR did.

I wanted the Savage Axis 22-250 but decided on the Savage Axis
.243.. (in hopes to take down a few big bucks)
I've shot both and they are hard to beat for the $

Hey Kyle, the axis is a fine rifle. It has a sterotype of
"cheap" because of the lack of bells and whistles like the
Remmys and CZ's. I had the Edge in the 22-250. Was a crow and
ground hog monster out to 400yrds. The 7mm-08 and the 25-06
Axis's are great shooters too. Don't for forget those if you are
looking to change calibre's.

Hey h4895,
I buy what I can reasonably afford if i have extra money and
Savage seemed to be my ticket.
