       Bushnell elite 1500 range finder

I bought this used on another forum, I can't get it to read past
400 yds, it works excellent to 400 yds tested on lots of deer
and turkey, signs and rocks. It has the ARC and all the factory
accessories the date on the unit is 2007. I will sell it for
$150 shipped any less I will do some destructive testing on it.
I will also consider trades. I have no use for a rangefinder
that will not range 1200 yds, but I know many others do. I
called Bushnell and they said "realignment" was $150. So it is
what it is and I am firm on the price, just thought I would see
if some one would like it before I got the hammer and punch out
       ;) .

It is very normal for a range finder to only range 1/2 the
rating. In Perfect conditions and lighting, perfectly still is
how they rate them. BUT with that said you should be able to
read out to around 700 yards. ALL the range finders out there do
the same thing. Try it on a bench looking at a white building...

I agree PB I just did my research AFTER I bought it (because
thats how I roll) and it didn't do what I expected. So I thought
I would see if anyone had a use for it before I opened it up and
turned my mad scientist on so to speak ;D . I paid a bit more
for it, but not so much I cant open it up and have a look see
before it goes to the trash pile. It is of no use to me, and I
feel the seller I got it from was honest in his description and
that I was expecting more than I should have. I hope that
someone will have a use for it and it is priced fair enough to
       rehome it.
Also thanks for pointing that out, as I did not do a very good
       job of it myself.
