What size cleaning patches do i need ? Can't find any
locally. I have a box full of shotgun patches. Thought i could
cut them in squares for the HMR but not sure what size to cut
them.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

The patches I have are 7/8" x 7/8". They are made for the 17,
204 and the 22. They work perfectly. Also have a bore snake that
works very well.

Thanks Donnie L. I will cut some up and give them a try. I
have a bore snake too. Wasn't sure if i should run it through
dry or put some bore cleaner on it first. Beginning to think i
should just stick with my 204 and forget about the HMR. :-\

I cut my own patches out of old t-shirts. Size wise about
7/8x7/8 or close. I never clean any of my guns from the muzzle
end for fear of damaging the crown. Plus...when cleaning from
the muzzle end...it just dumps all the trash in the chamber of
your gun which is a pain to clean properly. If I don't have a
rod that is long enough to go through the barrel...I use a piece
of 50 lbs piece of fishing line with a loop tied in it. Push up
from the muzzle end and drag the patches down the barrel.

Read on another forum that you could cut the end off of a
"Q-Tip". The stem will fit in the cleaning rod. I haven't had a
chance to try it yet, but it sounds like a good idea.
