       Rain/Sleet and Coyotes

Got out early today to beat the rain and sleet forecast for the
area this evening. Got setup about 3:15 pm this evening. I
have to walk in to the area due to wet muddy conditions. Wind
was perfect...overcast with a light drizzle. Started the set
with some light mouse squeaks for about 3 mins with no luck.
Switched to cottontail in distress for about 10 mins and still
no luck. Ended the day with hurt pup for about 5 mins with no
luck. By now the rain was moderate mixed with sleet. Love to
hunt in snow/sleet....not rain/sleet. Waited a few more minutes
to see if any dogs were gonna show. Another 10 mins of
rain/sleet....this boy started the long walk back to the truck a
little disappointed....but still thankful for the time in the
       woods. There's always tomorrow... :)

Sometimes ya just have to play the hand your dealt but it still
beats setting on the couch. The wife thinks I'm nuts when I go
out under those conditions, she just doesn't understand.....

The worst day hunting, is still better than the best day
       working.
