       Favorite Glass?
       By: Yote59 Date: March 21, 2012, 9:24 pm

I know a lot of people who put more money into their glass than
do their firearms. I have never been one to do that. I have
owned several scopes in my days, from Bushnell, Redfield,
Weaver, CenterPoint, Leapers, and others. I just purchased a
Leapers 4-16x50 AO and love everything about it. It is great in
low light, and holds zero as well as any I have owned. It is a
sub $100.00 scope. Just wondering what everyone else is looking
       through?

My 700 is topped with a Simmons 6.5x20x50. Got it on sale for
about $100. Its been a good scope for many years. I'd buy
another one in a heartbeat. Thanks for the heads up on the
Leapers, will have to check them out.

I've gone with Leupold in the past from 3-9 to 4-12x40 etc.
But I have a Simmons 3-9x40 that is a really really nice scope.
I don't have big$ to put in a scope. So I try to get the best
       I can within my budget.

I've always heard a lot of good feedback about the Simmons
scopes. Sounds like you got a good deal on that 6.5-20x50.

No doubt Leupold makes great glass....but a bit pricey for me.
Like you said....But I don't see the need to put big money to
       glass.

I think the glass you look through makes all the difference in
the world in early and late shooting. Other than those
conditions....as long as it stays zeroed....I am good to go.

Centerpoint for air rifle, Bushnell banner and tasco world class
for rimfires, and nikon+ redfield for others.

It takes a good scope on a springer air rifle. Their is a lot
of vibration each shot. A springer will do more damage faster
to a scope than a center fire rifle will. Whatever brand scope
you use on a springer, if it stays zeroed....piece of cake on a
       center fire..... ;)

Check here: www.pyramydair.com. Great source for air gunners. I
highly recommend "Leapers" scopes. Got one on my Disco .177 and
       my 22-250.
