       Cleaning antlers.

       I got a buck this year that wasn't done rubbing the velvet off
       his antlers for some weird reason. How do I clean the blackened
       blood & dried pieces of velvet off the rack ? Just going to
       mount the rack & part of the skull cap.

       About the only thing you can do is soak in water to loosen it up
       and peal it off.  I shot one years ago that still had some on
       the tips....they are still darker the the rest of the rack.  I
       think it look nice this way.

       As Yote said above, you will have to soak em. If the rack is
       stained, add some bleach to the water. After you have let it
       soak, bring the water to a boil and cook the rack for about an
       half to 1 hour. This is necessary to harden the rack if velvet
       was still on the horns.
