I have tried from tree stands and got busted every time. It
seems if a coyote sees movement on the ground they pause and
look. if they catch movement in a tree they bust and run. I know
guys that have good luck in trees but not me!

I hunt elevated most of the time. Maybe you should get a little
higher....at least 10-12 feet. Works for me.

I have taken several coyotes from a stand with bow, rifle, and
muzzle loader. But to be perfectly honest, I was deer hunting on
each occasion. I use a climbing stand and a 20' pull up rope; so
I'm pretty high up. One thing for sure, whatever I'm hunting, I
won't pass up whacking a yote.

       ;D I know the feeling!

Another reason I dont use a stand for yotes is I move a lot. I
like to get 3 to 4 sets of themourning and the same of the
evening. I can pack up and move very quickly without a stand.

If I'm Fortunate to hunt a field, I'll put my tower stand in the
treeline. It gives me 360 degree coverage with a swivel seat and
       a real-tree skirt.

::) We may cover 50 to 100 miles in a day and make 10 15 sets,
no time to be putting up a tree stand If we had trees...
