joined yesterday and just saw i should intro myself. been
shooting ghogs for 12+years since they destroyed my attempts at
gardening in this area of tenn. i grew up in sc and we didn't
have ghogs, so i had to learn about the pest. had a good
teacher and took to the "sport" instantly. i have moderate
OCD(obsessive compulsive disorder)...the good kind. if i get
into something, i must excell and ghog shooting and
reloading(handloading) came naturally. i have a local gunsmith
who makes my guns. i shoot .17 hmr to a .458 win mag. the
later is for any rogue elephants. i read and listen to
everything the benchresters do and that quest for a VERY small
one hole group is achieved regularly...i DO NOT LIKE TO MISS A
GHOG! i work up loads slowly and usually find the one holer
early. i like the higher bcs of match bullets, so i have been
hollowpointing these bullets and evaluating their terminal
ballistics...match bullets will make a small entry and small
exit and the varmint can escape to die later. the hollow points
EXPLODE and most ghogs are drt(dead right there) and often not a
drop of blood. i use a ballistic table and have killed ghogs
at 532 yds. learning to read the wind is my biggest challenge.
killed one at 300 yds with a 3 foot hold into the wind!!! the
pigs are sleeping now, so i'm working up loads and making a new
gun and collecting new landowners who want me to get at their
       ghogs. enjoy this site!

Welcome aboard, and thank you for becoming a member. Nice
shooting...500+ on ghogs is impressive. We are looking forward
to gaining knowledge from your expertise.
