Blood, sweat, and tears. Do you have what it takes?

       Isaiah 13:4
Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great
multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations
massing together! The Lord Almighty is mustering an army for
       war.
       1 Peter 5:8
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around
like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
       2 Corinthians 2:11
In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware
       of his schemes.
       1 John 5:19
We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is
under the control of the evil one.
       2 Corinthians 11:14-15
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of
light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also
masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what
       their actions deserve.
       1 John 4:5
They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint
of the world, and the world listens to them.
       1 John 5:5
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes
that Jesus is the Son of God.
       Romans 8:31
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is
for us, who can be against us?
       Isaiah 51:7
“Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have taken
my instruction to heart: Do not fear the reproach of mere
mortals or be terrified by their insults.
       Isaiah 57:11
“Whom have you so dreaded and feared that you have not been true
to me, and have neither remembered me nor taken this to heart?
Is it not because I have long been silent that you do not fear
       me?
       Deuteronomy 33:27
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the
everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you,
       saying, ‘Destroy them!’
       Exodus 15:3
The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.
       Isaiah 42:13
The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will
stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and
       will triumph over his enemies.
       Joel 2:11
The Lord thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond
number, and mighty is the army that obeys his command. The day
of the Lord is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?
       Jeremiah 20:11
But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors
will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly
disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten.
       Numbers 23:19
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he
should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he
       promise and not fulfill?
       Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He
will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer
rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
       Ezekiel 39:20
At my table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, mighty
men and soldiers of every kind,’ declares the Sovereign Lord.
       Psalm 144:1-8
Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my
fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my
stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues peoples under me. Lord, what are human beings that
you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them? They are
like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow. Part your
heavens, Lord, and come down; touch the mountains, so that they
smoke. Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy; shoot your
arrows and rout them. Reach down your hand from on high; deliver
me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of
foreigners whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are
       deceitful.
       Psalm 27:2-4
When the wicked advance against me to devour me,
it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though
       an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may
dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze
on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
       2 Timothy 2:3-5
Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs,
but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly,
anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s
crown except by competing according to the rules.
       Ephesians 6:11-17
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand
against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against
flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the
authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against
the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore
put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil
comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have
done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of
truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of
righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the
readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to
all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can
extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the
helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the
       word of God.
       Luke 6:40
The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully
trained will be like their teacher.
       1 Timothy 4:8
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value
for all things, holding promise for both the present life and
       the life to come.
       Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on,
however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for
those who have been trained by it.
       1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one
gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone
who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it
to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown
that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone
running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.
No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that
after I have preached to others, I myself will not be
       disqualified for the prize.
       2 Corinthians 10:3-6
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world
does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the
world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish
strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that
sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive
every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be
ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience
       is complete.
       Mark 16:15-18
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to
all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved,
but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs
will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out
demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes
with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not
hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people,
       and they will get well.”
       Luke 10:18-20
He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have
given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to
overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but
rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
       John 14:12
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works
I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than
these, because I am going to the Father.
       Psalm 91:1-8
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the
shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge
and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save
you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He
will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will
find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies
by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the
plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your
side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near
you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment
       of the wicked.
       Jeremiah 46:15
Why will your warriors be laid low? They cannot stand, for the
       Lord will push them down.
       Jeremiah 46:5
What do I see? They are terrified, they are retreating, their
warriors are defeated. They flee in haste without looking back,
and there is terror on every side,” declares the Lord.
       Psalm 21:8-10
Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand
will seize your foes. When you appear for battle, you will burn
them up as in a blazing furnace. The Lord will swallow them up
in his wrath, and his fire will consume them. You will destroy
their descendants from the earth, their posterity from mankind.
       1 Corinthians 15:24-28
Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God
the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and
power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under
his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he “has
put everything under his feet.”Now when it says that
“everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does
not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When
he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to
him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
       Psalm 37:38
But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for
       the wicked.
       Psalm 73:27
Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are
       unfaithful to you.
       Matthew 10:24-26
“The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his
master. It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and
servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been
called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!
“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed
that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made
       known.
       John 10:27-29
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I
give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will
snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me,
is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s
       hand.
       Psalm 33:10
The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes
       of the peoples.
       Psalm 94:11
The Lord knows all human plans; he knows that they are futile.
       Psalm 33:11
But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of
       his heart through all generations.
       Job 9:12
If he snatches away, who can stop him? Who can say to him, ‘What
       are you doing?’
       Job 9:19
If it is a matter of strength, he is mighty! And if it is a
matter of justice, who can challenge him?
       Psalm 76:6-8
At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still.
It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you
when you are angry? From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the
       land feared and was quiet.
       Isaiah 40:13-15
Who can fathom the Spirit of the Lord, or instruct the Lord as
his counselor? Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten him, and
who taught him the right way?
Who was it that taught him knowledge, or showed him the path of
       understanding?Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket;
they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands
as though they were fine dust.
       Isaiah 43:11-13
I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I
have revealed and saved and proclaimed—I, and not some foreign
god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I
am God. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver
out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”
       Isaiah 14:27
For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His
hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?
       Isaiah 8:10
Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your
plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.
       Nahum 1:6
Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce
anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are
       shattered before him.
       Jeremiah 23:24
Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?”
declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares
       the Lord.
       Amos 9:1-4
I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the
lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in
the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the
sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that
escapeth of them shall not be delivered. Though they dig into
hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to
heaven, thence will I bring them down: And though they hide
themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out
thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of
the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite
them: And though they go into captivity before their enemies,
thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I
will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.
       Jeremiah 50:44
Who is like me and who can challenge me? And what shepherd can
       stand against me?”
       Lamentations 3:37
Who can speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it?
       Psalm 135:6
The Lord does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the
earth, in the seas and all their depths.
       Isaiah 45:7
I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and
create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.
       Matthew 10:28
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the
soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and
       body in hell.
       Ezekiel 14:12-20
The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, if a country sins
against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against
it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill
its people and their animals, even if these three men—Noah,
Daniel and Job—were in it, they could save only themselves by
their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord. “Or if I send
wild beasts through that country and they leave it childless and
it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because
of the beasts, as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord,
even if these three men were in it, they could not save their
own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land
would be desolate. “Or if I bring a sword against that country
and say, ‘Let the sword pass throughout the land,’ and I kill
its people and their animals, as surely as I live, declares the
Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could
not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved.
“Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath on
it through bloodshed, killing its people and their animals, as
surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if Noah,
Daniel and Job were in it, they could save neither son nor
daughter. They would save only themselves by their
       righteousness.
       Isaiah 54:15-17
If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing; whoever
attacks you will surrender to you. “See, it is I who created the
blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit
for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to
wreak havoc; no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you
will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage
of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from
       me,” declares the Lord.
       Psalm 116:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
       Isaiah 57:1
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and
merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous
is taken away from the evil to come.
       John 10:17-18
The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to
take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of
my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to
take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
       John 13:15
For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have
       done to you.
       1 Peter 2:21
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered
for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.
       1 John 4:17
This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have
confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like
       Jesus.
       John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me.
       Jeremiah 10:11
“Tell them this: ‘These gods, who did not make the heavens and
the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the
       heavens.’”
       Nehemiah 9:6
Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the
heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all
things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and
thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth
       thee.
       Psalm 139:7-10
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from
thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I
make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings
       of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold
       me.
       Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am
your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you
       with my righteous right hand.
       Isaiah 66:16
For with fire and with his sword the Lord will execute judgment
on all people, and many will be those slain by the Lord.
       Jeremiah 25:33
At that time those slain by the Lord will be everywhere—from one
end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or
gathered up or buried, but will be like dung lying on the
       ground.
       Zephaniah 2:11
The Lord will be awesome to them when he destroys all the gods
of the earth. Distant nations will bow down to him, all of them
       in their own lands.
       Romans 9:28
For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and
       finality.”
       Deuteronomy 20:4
For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for
you against your enemies to give you victory.”
       Isaiah 24:21-23
21 In that day the Lord will punish
the powers in the heavens above
and the kings on the earth below.
22 They will be herded together
       like prisoners bound in a dungeon;
they will be shut up in prison
and be punished after many days.
23 The moon will be dismayed,
       the sun ashamed;
for the Lord Almighty will reign
on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem,
and before its elders—with great glory.
