With all the hustle and bustle going on Syn only really left
just to have a moment alone, with everything that had gone on
she hadn't had a moment to think. With the Marine deck all
trashed she had no place to stay, currently she was staying with
Jason, but did he want to have her live with him? That was their
plan was to have him live with her, but would he mind the other
way around? Then of course there was the new position she had
been dropped in, she didn't like it at all and if she could
she'd give it up in a second. Perhaps it was because she didn't
feel she earned it or that perhaps it was because she didn't
care about being promoted. She wanted to test herself, not have
rank dropped on her, more than that she was still not
comfortable around Kira, now she would be forced to work more
closely with her. With her uniform in order she went to join the
others she lurked in the back because she was still distracted
by her inner thoughts. She knew one thing, the moment she had
time regardless of who told her no, she needed to sift through
the wreckage for the blast proof box. It held things her mother
had left her as well as pictures and other things, it was the
only possession she felt had any value.

Baj and Mara's personal quarters --> Rec Deck l USS Veroto-A
Mara finished up, she wore a nice black knee length halter dress
with black pumps. She turned to Baj and frowned, "You look fine
come on" she said helping him fix his medals. She looked at his
face most of the burns had faded but some of his skin was still
quiet pink. The bruises however stood out his eye was black and
he had a nice concussion. "We are running behind Kira will kill
us if we miss this. " Mara knew Baj was a nervous wreck, today
was their wedding and then after that Kira would be leaving for
her undercover mission with the executive officer leaveing him
in command of the ship until further notice. Mara took his hands
into hers and led him out of their quarters and to he rec deck
they took seats in the front next to Jon. Just as Lela and Danny
showed up.

Joseph had been sitting there waiting for the ceremony to start
when he saw Baj and Mara walk in. The sight of Mara brought back
the memory of him acting like a fool on the mission. He excused
himself from Jenna quickly and stood up walking over to Mara. He
then spoke to her "Ms. Aranel, might I have a word with you?"
Mara looked up suprised, "Umm sure"
Joseph pointed off to the side a bit, once they were over there
he looked at her and spoke "I wanted to apologize to you for my
actions and attitude towards you on the mission. I should of
gone about it better..."
Mara smiled, "There is no need to applogize, in your mind I was
putting the mission in jeporday and everyones lives as well. I
had not expected you to act any different child." she said
soothingly. "There is no need to applogize to me it should be me
who is appolgizing"
Joseph shook his head some and smiled a bit at her calling him
a child. Pretty much to every one else he was. He then spoke
"There is no need to apologize for you. I think I'd of done the
same in your position..." He looked up at the podium some and
noticed a high ranking official there. He turned back to Mara
and spoke "We better get seated. Looks like its about to start."
Mara nodded and went back to sit in her seat.

Recreation Deck l USS Veroto-A
Lela and Danny went back by their quarters for Lela to change as
she stood in front of her mirror she looked herself over the
injuries were mostly healed save for the bruises on her face the
large black eye she looked pretty beat up and she had bruises
that covered her body. The heart ache of losing their child, and
the memories of what her 'grandfather' had done to her tore at
her insides she felt like she was losing her mind.
The uniform she wore held no rank and was a marine dress
uniform, Danny has insisted she ware it even though she didn't
lnow why.
“Are you ready your mother is waiting” Danny said hovering in
behind her.
Lela nodded but didn't speak, she turned to him and followed him
through their quarters. It didn't take them long to get to the
recreation deck where a large gathering of people awaited what
ever was to come.
Lela saw her mother, fathers, brothers, sister, and niece all in
the front row with Danny's father standing beside Jazmyn.
General Hale and her mother stood on a stage in dress uniforms.
“Ladies and Gentleman” Kira spoke, “I appreciate you all coming
out here this evening” Kira looked around the crowd to see her
entire senior staff and other various officers. “Tonight we have
a guest who has some business to attend to I am pleased to
introduce Major General Isabelle Hale”
“Thank you all” Izzy said as the clapping died down. “There is a
member of your crew that we have had our eye on for some time,
she has been an amazing child that has grown into a strong
woman, Lela Phaserman front and center please”
Lela was surprised but drifted to the stage. “Ma'am” Lela said
respectfully coming to a stop in front of the General.
“Lela, we have had you under review for some time, General
Hardfighter tells us you want to be a marine and you have shown
that you would be a good fit with some training and discipline.
That is why a panel of marines chaired by myself have come to
the decision that we are granting you a field commission with
the rank of second lt. You will commit to your studies here on
the ship and be trained by Lt. Colonel Absynia Starkos. She will
be your mentor, follow what she says like your life depended on
it because it may very well depend on it someday” Izzy said with
a smile. She stepped forward and presented a black box inside
where two gold bars. “Is there someone you would like to pin
these on you?” she asked.
Lela thought for a moment then nodded, “Can I choose two
people?” Lela asked.
“Sure” Izzy nodded.
“My father, Commodore Baj Tellok and my adoptive father Lt.
Colonel Gary Phaserman” Lela said looking over to see them both.
Kira beamed behind Isabelle, proud of her daughter in so many
ways.
Gary stepped up and saluted Kira and Isabelle, then Baj. He took
the gold bar from the box and looked at Lela. “I'm very proud of
you, Lela. Congratulations.” He said as he pinned the device
onto her collar.
Baj smiled and stepped forward, saluting Kira and Isabelle, then
returning Gary's salute. He took the other gold bar and moved to
Lela's other side, nodding in agreement with Gary, "You deserve
this, good job Lela." He pinned the bar onto her collar.
Lela fought back tears at their words. When her fathers stepped
back she grabbed them both in a hug. “I love you both so much”
she said.
Baj returned the hug, smiling, "I love you too."
“I love you Kid” Gary smiled.
Jack Hardfighter stepped forward and cleared his throat. “Excuse
me, Ma'am?” He asked. When Lela turned to look at him, he was
standing at attention, rendering a picture perfect salute.
Lela was a little surprised no one had ever saluted her before,
she snapped to attention and returned his salute.
Jack lowered his salute and shook Lela's hand. “Congratulations
on your commissioning, Lieutenant.”
As she shook his hand, Lela handed him a silver coin that Danny
had slipped her. On the front was the Marine Corps crest, on the
back it said “Silver Coin Salute”, along with an embossed image
of an NCO saluting an Officer for the first time.
Jack looked at the Coin and smiled. “I will keep this in a
special place, Lela. Thank you.” Jack had two other coins, from
Danny and Praxis, displayed prominently in his home on plaques.
Lela smiled, “No, thank you Chief.”
Kira stepped forward then and wrapped her daughter in a hug. “So
proud of you baby” she said.
“Thanks mom” Lela said.
"Go on get Mara dressed" Kira pointed to a room off the side
Lela had known the wedding was to be today just not when.
Lela nodded "Flawless planning mother" she laughed a little.
Kira nodded to General Hale who went and took a seat in the
second row. "At this time would Commodore Baj Tellok and his
best man Commander Joseph Frost please come to the stage."

Rec Deck l USS Veroto-A
Lela and Mara hurried into a room off the back of the stage. Two
garment bags hung waiting for them. “You first” Lela said
unzipping Mara's wedding dress. “Bend down” Lela said and then
effortlessly slid it over Mara and fixed the train as it fell
around her. “Sit” she ordered and started in on mara's hair
braiding and pinning it into place. She tucked the veil in and
over Mara's face.
Mara let Lela work they hadn't had a set idea in mind but the
work seemed to keep Lela busy. “How are you doing?” Mara asked
concerned.
“Fine, I am not ready to talk about this, not right now you are
getting married. I am happy” Lela pinned a light blue carnation
in Mara's hair.
“You are saying that to make me happy, you are in turmoil and I
can see it. I have been where you are right now” Mara said
standing up to look at herself in the mirror. “Wow Lela...” Mara
was speechless.
“Your welcome” Lela said then hurried over to pull her light
blue dress from its bag. She slid it on and spiked her hair a
little. She handed Mara a bouquet of white and blue carnations
and picked up her own as well. “Ready for this?”
“More then ready lead the way child” Mara smiled.

Jason smiled as he noticed Syn and smiled. "excuse me doctor."
he said going over to where she was. He saw her in Marine Dress
Blues as he saw her stand in the back. he walked up to her
slowly as he began started to feel how happy he was that he
could see her again. he knew she had wanted him to move in with
her, not that she had no place to go until the marine deck was
finished, he wondered if she wanted to move in with him, but
didn't want to seem like he was rushing too fast with he had
hoped to be a relationship. He kissed her cheek when she wasn't
looking and smiled as he looked at her. "hiding?" he asked

Syn looked up as Jason came closer she ducked her head a bit
embarrassed "Is it that obvious? I just...wasn't sure where I'm
supposed to be, that and the new uniform feels weird."

Joseph had been sitting there watching his sister become a
Marine. He was quite proud of her as her father and their step
father pinned her insignia on her. A few moments later as Lela
rushed off with Mara, Joseph heard his name being called as well
as being called Baj's best man. He looked over at Jenna for a
second then stood up with a perked brow as he walked up to the
stage and looked at Baj. He was confused as he spoke "Best man?"
Baj nodded with a guilty look on his face, "I probably should
have told you before, but there wasn't really an opportunity..."
He glanced around before quiety asking, "Would you mind being my
best man?"
Smiling Joseph placed his hand on Baj's shoulder "Of course.
Your my sister's father and it would be my honor... Just wish I
had more notice. No bachelor party..." Moving further on to the
stage he then spoke "What made you want me to be your best man
if you don't mind me asking sir?"
Baj smiled in relief at Joseph's answer, glad that he wouldn't
have to find another person at such sort notice. At his
question, Baj looked straight at him, "You kept me from
attacking my daughter, that alone puts you ahead.", then he
shrugged, "And I feel kind of bad for attacking you too..."
Joseph smiled some what though he looked at the door that Mara
and Lela disappeared in to, thinking of his sister. He then
turned back to Baj and spoke in response "You were in a blood
lust... You can't be blamed for attacking me. I would of
probably done the same in your shoes... I'm just glad your not
pissed at me for breaking your ribs or head butting you..." He
grinned some as he looked at him.
Baj chuckled and shook his head, putting an arm on Joseph's
shoulder, "I'm just glad you aren't upset about the whole
thing." He looked over to the door, where Joseph was looking. A
look of nervousness fell on his face and he gave Joe a nervous
smile.
Joseph noticed the nervous smile and nudged him lightly as he
spoke "You'll be fine Baj... You two were meant for each other."
He smiled as he glanced at Jenna then turned back as he spoke
"And no. I'm not upset. It was fun." He had a mischievous grin
on his face after saying that.
Baj raised an eyebrow and gave Joseph a sideways look, "Fun? I
don't know about that..." The engineer in him clearly showing
through.
Shaking his head some Joseph smiled and then spoke "Anyways...
Do you have your own written vows? And where are the rings?"
Baj's nervousness returned at the mention of the vows, "I was
just going to wing that." He reached into his pocket and pulled
out the ring, handing it to Joseph, "Thanks for reminding me."
Joseph took the ring and looked at it some before placing it in
his pocket for safe keeping. He looked at Baj and nodded some as
he spoke "If we had more time I could help you write some out...
Try to express your feelings for her. How did you two meet?"
A smile crossed Baj's face as he thought back, "It was on a
mission. She helped us escape an prison camp controlled by orion
women." Any trace of nervousness was gone, "We spent a lot of
time with eachother, have been together since."
Watching Baj's features relax, all trace of nervousness
disappearing, Joseph smiled. He then placed his hand on Baj's
shoulder and spoke "Then use that. Don't try to be Hemingway
with it. Just be expressive of how you feel about her."
Baj nodded, "Thank you." He let loose a sigh and looked around.
He was unsure of who this Hemingway was, but let it slide. His
thoughts were now fixed on Mara.

Reception Deck
Mara and Lela went out the other door in the room and circled
around back behind everyone with out being seen to where Danny
was waiting in his hover chair.
“Hey” Lela said gently.
“I didn't have a chance to say congrats” Danny said and pulled
her down to kiss her.
Lela returned the kiss tentatively.
“Thank you” Mara said as she stepped up beside him “For walking
me down the aisle, well hovering me down” she grinned.
“My pleasure ma'am you ladies ready?” Danny asked.
Mara nodded, “more then ready hold on to me tight or I may run
down the aisle”
“Well we can't have that now can we “Danny offered his arm Mara
smiled and took it.
The wedding march started and Lela went through the doors first
her father had his back to her.
Baj heard the wedding march start and looked first right, at
Joseph, then turned around, so he could see. The sight of Mara
left him speechless as a smile spread across his face.
Lela walked down the aisle at a respectable pace then came to
stop and moved off to the side she smiled at her brother and
winked.
Mara came next with Danny hovering beside her as they came to
the front of the stage and Baj came to meet them Danny took
Mara's hand and placed it in his.
Joseph had been facing away from the door when they started down
the aisle. He slowly turned facing the aisle when the wedding
march started. He noticed Mara in her dress yet said nothing. He
had a bit of a smile on his face as he noticed his sister
thinking she did look quite beautiful in the dress. He looked at
Baj and saw the smile. He noticed the wink from his sister and
winked back, watching Danny give Mara's hand to Baj.
Baj nodded and said a "Thank you" to Danny as he took Mara's
hand, having a hard time keeping his face from completely
splitting from his smile.
Mara smiled at Baj and they walked up the rest of the stairs
together coming to a stop in front of Kira.
Kira smiled at Baj then Mara “Friends, Family, we are gathered
here today to bare witness to the joining of two hearts, two
souls in the bonds of matrimony.” Kira looked over the assembled
crew. “Marriage is a commitment, a partnership. As individuals
we are flawed but when you find that special someone each
compliments the others flaws. It isn't always easy, every couple
has their fights but with love and determination, you find a way
to move past and come away from it with your relationship
stronger then before. “ Kira's eyes rested on her husband.
“Today, Baj, Mara, you stand before your friends and your family
to declare your love for each other. To make the commitment and
join together to become stronger. So I ask of you this” Kira
paused and turned to Baj.
"Commodore Baj Tellok, will you have this woman, Mara Aranel, to
be your wedded wife, to live together in marriage, will you love
her, comfort her, honor her, and keep her, in sickness and in
health, in sorrow and in joy, till death do you part?"
Baj nodded, looking into Mara's eyes, "I do."
"And you Mara Aranel, will you have this man, Baj Tellok, to be
your wedded husband, to live together in marriage, will you love
him, comfort him, honor him, and keep him, in sickness and in
health, in sorrow and in joy, and through all the long nights he
spends tinkering, till death do you part?"
“I do” Mara said not taking her eyes off Baj but trying to
stifle a laugh at Kira's creativity.
“At this time the couple has asked to share their own vows,
Baj?” Kira looked to Baj and hoped he had something.
Baj turned to Mara and took a deep breath “I struggled a long
while with what to say to you Mara, how to express my feelings
in to words. I have never been good with this sort of thing. The
day you found me in that cell I was struggling. With who I had
become, my time with the borg stripped away everything from me
and before you... I was lost. You have helped me to find myself.
To find the joy and laughter in life. Because of you I have
opened up to the world instead of staying here” he pointed to
his head. “and I vow that in the time I have with you, that I
will love you and cherish every second we are together. I
promise to support you as you have supported me through
everything. I love you Mara now and forever”
Mara fought back tears at his words, she had never heard him
declare his love for in so many beautiful words.
Kira turned to Mara and smiled, “Your turn”
“Baj, when I first saw you, I knew you were different you
fascinated me. You fulfilled your promise to take me away and
these past few years with you have been the best in my life. You
have helped me to heal my broken heart, my fragile mind. You
have shown me love and respect. My world was a scary place
before you, but your love has fought away all those demons your
patients and understanding have been a shining ray of hope when
all I had was darkness. I can never express how much I love you
how grateful I am for all you have given me. My life is a better
place because you are in it, I can't imagine a better way to
spend my life then wrapped up in your arms every night. I
promise that no matter what happens down the road, I will be
here to love you and support you. I promise to fight away your
demons and be your light in the dark until my dieing breath, I
will always love you.”
Baj blinked back tears in his eyes as he listened to Mara. He
was speechless at her words.
Kira tried not to cry at Mara's touching words “The rings” Kira
said not trusting herself to say more just yet.
Lela stepped up and handed Mara the ring for Baj, a silver
titanium band.
Mara took the ring and handed Lela her flowers.
Joseph stepped up a step pulling the ring out of his pocket. He
then placed it in Baj's hand and gave him a smile as well as a
soft pat on the back. He then stepped back resuming his
position.
“Mara, repeat after me, With this ring I thee wed.”
“With this ring I thee wed.” Mara said confidently as she slid
the ring on to his finger. She held onto his hand and smiled.
“Baj repeat after me, With this ring I thee wed.”
"With this right I thee wed." Baj repeated, sliding the ring
onto her hand and returning her grip and her smile.
Mara looked down at the small white gold ring with diamonds on
the band she hadn't seen it before now and it was beyond
beautiful.
“By the power invested in me by Starfleet Command I now
pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss your bride” she
smiled at Baj.
Baj grinned and lifted Mara's veil, then stepped forward,
wrapping his hands around her as he kissed her.
Mara put her arms around his neck deeping the kiss and pressing
against him.
Kira cleared her throat after a a few minutes. “As you can all
see to the left there is a reception area with refreshments set
up. So that we can celebrate the happy couples wedding “
