       Below is some information on Canon vessels, based on On-Screen
       only information. I will post Fanon vessels in a seperate
       thread.

       Designed in the late 2360's, the Sovereign class represents a
       new theory in Federation Cruiser designs. A fast Cruiser, the
       Sovereigns are long, lean ships. They are the most heavily armed
       ships NOT built primarily for warfighting, with 14 Phaser
       arrays, and depending on the modification, between five and
       eight torpedo launchers. Sovereign is, for a large ship, fairly
       fast and maneuverable.
       The Federation planned to arm these ships with rotary pulse
       phasers, but the plan was scrapped in 2369.
