       Lt. Colonel Phaserman is a gifted Fighter Pilot, having served
       more than 200 years with the Valderan Royal Starfighter Corps.
       He is quite possibly the best fighter pilot in explored space,
       although a couple of Romulan pilots as well as LFMC Major
       Kristen McQueen have disputed this claim. Gary is also noted for
       being a student of modern military tactics, having been a
       professor of interstellar warfare at Starfleet Academy, the
       Federation PostGraduate School, and the Valderan Naval War
       College. In 2378, Gary published the first edition of "Fighting
       Ships of the Alpha Quadrant", which is considered a definitive
       source on Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Cardassian, Breen, and
       Valderan warship classes. The first edition drew some initial
       controversy because it conflicted with "Official"
       classifications of some ships (Classifying Federation
       'Explorers' as type-classes of Warships, and re-classing
       others.) Since then, Gary has updated and republished "Fighting
       Ships" every other year.
       ACADEMIC STUDIES
       Lt. Colonel Phaserman began his Academic career at the age of
       14, attending the Valderan Junior Officer Training Academy,
       Valderis City on Valderis. He graduated 2nd in his class,
       securing his admission into the highly sought-after Valderan
       Royal Starfighter Academy. Due to the fact that he is the son of
       the then-reigning monarch, he was ineligible for the traditional
       Imperial nomination, and had to accept the nomination to the
       Academy from the Prime Minister instead.
       Gary graduated the Academy first in his class, surpassing
       expectations of the Staff and Cadre, who expected the young
       prince to simply glide through on his royal-born laurels.
       Instead, Cadet Phaserman graduated with a grade point average of
       9.917 (Out of a possible 10.00), recording the second highest
       career GPA in the school's three hundred year history. His
       disciplinary track record was equally impressive, finishing with
       a total of 8,768 Merit points (Cadets begin with 4,000 points,
       and earn or lose points based on their non-academic performance
       within school. If at any point a cadet drops below 3,100 points,
       the cadet is disenrolled from the academy and discharged from
       the Service.) Upon graduation, Cadet Phaserman was commissioned
       in the Valderan Royal Starfighter Corps as a Flight Officer, and
       attended the Tactical Fighter School.
       After several tours of duty in the Fleet, and earning a
       promotion to the rank of Flight Lieutenant, Phaserman attended
       the Valderan Armed Services Post Graduate School, earning
       Masters level Post-Graduate Degree in Interstellar Military
       Theories and Doctrines. Several years later, he returned for a
       Doctorate course. By 2275, then Major Phaserman had earned
       multiple Doctorates in various fields of Military theories, from
       land and planetary warfare to Interstellar Strategic Operational
       Doctrines. According to his son-in-law, Lima Fleet Marine Corps
       Lt. General Praxis Hardfighter, "Gary's probably forgotten more
       about the Art of War than Sun Tzu may ever have known."
       MILITARY ACHIEVEMENTS
       By far Lt. Colonel Phaserman's greatest Military Achievements
       have been behind the controls of Starfighters. He has recorded,
       in over 200 years of being a pilot and in more than 3 dozen wars
       of varying scale, more than 1,000 kills.
       Other military achievements include the 2312 route of the
       Tyderian fleet at El-Purimar. Commanding a squadron of Valderan
       Destroyers against a force of eight Tyderian cruisers and
       Battleships, Phaserman managed to coordinate the Destroyers' use
       of Torpedo attacks combined with the use of the El-Purimar
       system's gas giants and the Destroyer's cloaking devices. In a
       long, protracted struggle, the Destroyers managed to keep the
       eight larger ships pinned into the system and picked them off
       one by one, with the loss of only two ships.
       FAMILY
       Gary was, for 180 years, married Commodore Kristen MakMilyan, of
       Valderis City, the daughter of a prominant lawmaker. Together
       they have four children, all of them currently military
       officers. The two divorced in the early 2380's due to Gary's
       continued service in the Federation.
       in 2383, Gary married Kira Phaserman, and adopted her daughters
       Jazmyn and Lela Phaserman as his own. Together they have a son,
       John. Gary considers most of the officers of the Veroto to be
       like his Children, even Lela's father, Admiral Baj Tellok, who
       Gary believes still harbors some unresolved romantic feelings
       for Kira.
