Sorry, busy day. Just got to read 24 hours' worth of posts.

I kinda want to take the Nazca Ruins in 3.5 but it looks like
the USN is almost all going elsewhere. Is there anyone who'll
join me in the NR route? If not, I'll just join one of the other
groups.

Go wherever you want;] 3.5 is unrelated to H&D, so I am kind of
using it to make new acquaintances/reinforcing old ones;]

Orange: as for the Ceres/Celes mixup, I blame having too much to
do with Japanese recently^^'

Yeah, I wondered if it was the l/r thing. Hell, I wonder if
when they made the game they meant Ceres but got it wrong, so
there's a few points of potential failure there.

Well, the official transcription (Hepburn) uses 'r' all the
time, but when it comes to personal names, it's basically
whatever the author/publisher makes up. And since they have only
a vague concept of the difference if they don't know any foreign
languages very well, more than often it is decided on a whim=='
I'm still amazed how did we ever come up with "Aerith", the
official latinization, when the original is clearly written
"Earisu" (the last 'u' might be silent)=='

Yeah, I've at least noticed recently it's getting better about
being more accurate. I have a natural flair for languages so
tend to pick up on these more than others. In just half a
semester I've already learned how to do the "accent" for Korean,
for instance.

I know mild Spanish, and gleam what I can about other romance
languages from that, and the basics of Latin and German, and
know something about Russian, Japanese (actually probably more
vocab than everything else in this category), Korean, Chinese,
and Arabic. Aside from Japanese and Chinese, I think I know
enough about anything on this list to at least find the proper
place to turn myself into the authorities should I suddenly find
myself transported to a place that uses it.

I know Polish and English fluently, German and Japanese very
good, know my way around Latin, could resort to rudimentary
Russian, Romanian and Albanian, if I brush up my notes. Oh, and
speaking very slowly in Polish, I can manage in Slovakia, Czech,
Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro and parts of
Ukraine;]
