No, scoutings more about a slow and steady observation of the
area rather than flying through it as quickly as you can.

Lets put it this way. You can flyby at high speed and get stats
through an Advanced Scanner, on something like a base or a
Mecha. For finding things that are hidden, you'll need to go
slow and steady.

But but but... I have HSCE.... I can react and note different
things quickly, even if I'm moving at a fast speed...? Lol. :P

Hm, then I think I'll actually be better for retrieval. Packing
about 3k~4k speed like I do, I won't be that useful for careful
scouting.

You're still useful. You use that speed to go far, THEN start
scouting slowly. So you can scout *over there*, rather than
here.

About what speed would you need to scout the area for hidden
locations, how about using HSCM and an Advanced Scanning System?

Hmm.
Could I do it like moving to a point, then look around, then
repeat all those actions in 1 round? Kinda like setting
waypoints all over the map, and at each waypoint, I'll stop and
observe the area.

You need to move at Speed 20 or less, with Vari-Cameras active,
to have any chance at all of noticing hidden terrain features.

This is kind of what I was thinking. We establish search zones,
so to speak. Orange is me, red Tristraim, and the turns from
start we're in that zone.
Blue arrows are the other two taking off.

Though for reference, at that speed, that's 6 hexes a turn, so I
guess we better make a lot more zones :P
