"Well neither of my parents were pegasi so I never actually gone
up there. Though we had to play up there a few times but half
the team had to have spells on them. It's really not too bad! I
was too young to even remember and the two that found me have
been the best parents I could ask for!" She gave a smile before
listening. She took a sip of water before clearing her dry
throat. When Star Dust asked a question she nodded. "Well I
lived on the outskirts I should say, my parents could never
afford any housing in the city, but I had to go to school there
and... well it wasn't too fantastic. Of course I was looked down
upon and it made it worse that I wasn't all rich and mighty like
the other residents, but what could I do? The city is gorgeous
though. The university there was amazing."

A bit of confusion leaked into Sona’s expression as Ivory
explained the train stations. “…oh,” she finally said, though in
her opinion, it still made little sense. No wonder she had
gotten turned around. Sona nodded in thanks at the waitress,
turning her attention to Star as she introduced herself.
However, her face seemed to close off at the pegasus’s
questions. “I wouldn’t want to bore you,” Sona said carefully.
“Suffice it to say that I came from the west, and my talent is
nothing special.” She didn't enjoy lying outright, she needed to
get the attention off of her. So she immediately turned the
subject to Star. “So, you say you were born in Los Pegasus. What
was it like to grow up in such a large city?” She glanced at the
griffin. "And Claire, that's unfortunate. In my opinion,
griffins are quite beautiful. Of course, you are the first
griffin I've seen," she admitted, then, worried she'd said too
       much, quickly fell silent.

Ivory tilts her head in response to Star's question, confused
for a moment before remembering that the Pegasus wasn't from
around here. While both of the Princesses resided in Canterlot
for the most part, they were quite fond of visiting Ponyville
from time to time to talk to the Element Bearers, as well as
taking a chance to get away from the busy, city activity. "Oh,
yes!~ Numerous times, actually, although Princess Luna is
probably a given considering I work for the Lunar Guard... And
by extension, her." The mare grins, happily accepting another
cup of coffee as she munches on a piece of lettuce. "To be
perfectly honest, I can't tell you much about Princess Celestia.
She's always on the move, but I do know that she likes to sample
treats from Sugarcube Corner from time to time. If you stick
around long enough, she's certain to come visit and ask how
things are going, particularly around the Summer Sun
       Celebration."
Eating a few more bites, she cants her head back and forth in
enjoyment. "Princess Luna, on the other hoof, tends to stick
around much longer and likes to make appearances around
Nightmare Night. From what I can tell, she's the more social one
out of the two, even though she wasn't always like that. Perhaps
one of the friendliest ponies you'll ever meet.~ She loves
telling stories and lending a helping hoof or ear wherever she
goes." Ivory takes another drink, scrunching up her face a
little. The mare could never seem to remember that coffee and
salad don't go well together... "And while both of the sisters
are incredibly wise, Luna has a particular, uncanny ability to
get inside your head. I suppose that would make sense, though,
considering she presides over our dreams to keep us safe. Still,
she's quite enjoyable to have around and talk to from time to
       time."
Ivory then turns her attention to Claire, nodding every now and
then as the Griffon explained a bit about Canterlot. "I can
certainly relate, Claire. Although we're only a year apart from
each other, my sisters and I went to the same public school in
Baltimare. The reactions each of us received spanned from silly
things like "do we burn in sunlight" to more serious... well...
bullying. I can certainly understand why Noctrals are keen to
being home-schooled, but it wasn't all bad. We made some
friends, and Isabelline pretty much ended every fight somepony
started." Ivory shrugs, now nibbling on the edges of her bowl as
she glanced up to Sona, who remained largely silent. "Nonsense.~
You wouldn't be a bore. Tell us a little bit about yourself.~"

       ---------------------------------------------------------
The pegasus's attention was rapt on Ivory as the noctral spoke
about the princesses, gaze locked intently on the mare despite
the treat set in front of her. It was obvious just by looking at
her that she was putting mental images together of how she
imagined the princesses, along with whatever details Ivory
provided to her. There was some sort of... eagerness there, as
if hungry for every tiny thing that could be offered about their
rulers. What stayed with her, however, were two big details:
Luna often appeared in Ponyville around Nightmare Night, and
Celestia often appeared in Ponyville around the Summer Sun
Celebration. If she could just get a chance to talk to either of
       them...
Her gaze wandered idly over to the griffon as the conversation
moved over to her, now moving to nibble at her own bowl as she
listened--though still somewhat distracted. Claire's answer was
about what she expected; ponies in Canterlot tended to be fairly
xenophobic... It was unfortunate, but the way of life. Then,
Sona spoke, deflecting Star's question and describing her talent
as nothing special... A brow arched at that, and only rose
higher when she quickly turned the conversation back to Star
herself, but chose not to press on the issue for the moment,
instead nodding along with IVory in agreement.
"She's right... You wouldn't be a bore. But... Life in Los
Pegasus was... Interesting, at least. It was busy. So busy. It's
a city that never sleeps. You could walk there every day, and
always find something new, something fun happening. There
were... A lot of strange ponies there, though. But I suppose
that's the price you pay for living somewhere like that." She
shrugged faintly, sipping at her tea before continuing. "Really,
though. We wouldn't mind if you told us a bit of yourself. After
all, a mysterious mare walking in out of the rain..." Star
grinned a bit. "Don't a lot of stories have interesting
protagonists that do something like that?" she winked, then
glanced to Claire. "What was your favorite thing about
       Canterlot, then?"

For some reason, Claire felt incredibly connected to the new
friends she had just made. Yes she was talking about some more
unhappy times in her life, but it was making her feel a lot
better. She suddenly snapped back to reality when Sona
responded."Aw thanks love." She continued to listen before
nodding at what Star and Ivory said. "You would not be a bore. I
would be very interested! Besides, we all seem to be.. bonding
       tonight!"
Claire took a bite out of her bowl and drank some water.
"Believe it or not, there is still a lot I actually loved about
Canterlot, I loved the view from my room... Especially at night
when the moon is bright and the stars are out! I love the
observatory they have there, the food is excellent... I love the
EASEA facility they have there! We saved up enough bits to go
there when I was a little griffon and it was the best experience
of my life! I met a real astronaut and she gave me her jumpsuit
       and signed it!"

Sona sighed mentally at the others’ continued curiosity. “Yes, I
would,” she said, a bit more forcefully than before. “I’m afraid
I’m no interesting protagonist, rain or no rain,” she insisted.
“But please, tell me more about Los Pegasus!” She said, though
she was far more motivated by her desire to deflect the
questions than actual curiosity. “What sort of strange ponies?”
She was genuinely curious as she heard Claire, however. “EASEA?”
she questioned. Living in isolation had its disadvantages, and
Sona had never heard of such a thing.

Ivory couldn't help but frown at Sona's insistence... Then
again, what she chooses to share about herself is completely up
to the mare, and if the Unicorn didn't want to talk about
herself, well... Neither Ivory or Star could really force her
to. The Noctral simply shrugs it off, taking another sip of her
coffee. "You got to go to the Equestrian Aeronautics facility?
AND get a signed jumpsuit? I'm so jealous!" Ivory giggles and
nearly snorts, which makes her giggle even harder. "I'm honestly
surprised to hear you mention it. Not a whole lot of ponies, or
griffons, for that matter, know what that place is. Or what they
do, really. I thought I was the only who did around here.~" She
was almost giddy with excitement as she swayed back and forth in
her chair. "I was a part of their "Constellation Crew" while I
was in high school and helped map out their constellation
database. I know most of them by heart, and while I'm certainly
not astronaut material, I like to drop by from time to time to
see what all they've done. It looks like such an exciting
       profession.~"

Star rubbed at the side of her face at Sona's curt dismissal of
the topic, before exhaling slowly as she nibbled at her salad
again as she shifted her attention over to Claire as the griffon
spoke. She smiled a bit at the mention of the moon and stars, as
well as the observatory in Canterlot. Then, her attention
shifted to Ivory, unable to help but laugh some at the noctral's
infectious giggle. She certainly was an excitable girl... The
mention of 'exciting profession' caused Star to perk her ears
some, however. "So... Is there anything in Equestria you'd
really like to do, dear?" she asked, the fact that Sona had
asked her a couple of questions slipping her mind. "Or are you
       doing it already?"

"Well it's what I wanted to do so of course I did everything I
could to convince my parents to take me! Supernova. That's the
astronaut that signed a jumpsuit. She was the only survivor from
that horrific collision with the space station a few years
ago... She also is a very successful astronaut and engineer for
the EASEA. The whole experience at the facility what motivated
me to take up sports to get into a good university!" Claire said
with not much enthusiasm as she might have answered with before.
She turned to Sona. "Oh! The Equestria Administration for Space
Exploration and Aeronautics! They do exactly what the name
suggests! I hope one day I'll be up there. Maybe the first
Griffon in space... though I would need to actually work for
       them first I guess."

Sona sighed again, as they seemed unhappy with her silence.
“This was a bad idea…” she said quietly. She nodded at Claire,
“Indeed, that sounds like quite the adventure.” Then she glanced
at Star. “It was very kind of you to invite me to sit with you
       all, but I just remembered, I have a prior obligation… I should
go.” Reaching into her saddlebags, she placed a few bits on the
table. “Please use this to pay for my meal. As for the meal
itself, any of you are welcome to it.” And with one last
expressionless nod of farewell, she turned and left,
disappearing back into the rain as quickly as she had appeared.
