Ivory beams, literally holding onto her chair in excitement as
she tilts herself up, almost falling over in the process. "It'll
be soooooo fun!~ I had gotten the house for its extra living
space for my sisters- three rooms, three baths, a large living
room, a second floor. They're all furnished, but... They're so
busy within the Guard that Indigo practically lives in
Canterlot, and Izzy pretty much travels everywhere. Speaking
of..." The mare falls silent for a moment, glancing expectantly
at the door. As if on cue, it swings open, and Ivory was already
halfway out of her chair before realizing... It wasn't
Isabelline. In fact, the Unicorn was far from Izzy, donning the
complete opposite color of coat and mane. Certainly pretty, but
not quite who she was expecting.
The Noctral slumps back in her chair, pouting for just a moment
before giving the newcomer an excited wave. "I tend to hear that
quite a bit, actually," Ivory comments, returning her attention
to Claire and Star. "I don't really look like Lunar Guard
material, and to tell the truth, I'm really not." She blinks,
letting her golden eyes wander for a moment as she scoots her
chair back up to the table. "I joined to be with my sisters, as
silly as that sounds. But what I lack in combat prowess, I make
up for in litigation and support. Aaaand the occasional
reconnaissance effort. I've never actually been in live combat."
She shrugs, glancing up at the door again. "I'm perfectly okay
with that, though. I'd much rather dance and sing under the
       moonlight with my fans.~"
Ivory eeps with a giggle as Claire punched her, playfully
swatting at her talons. She thought getting hit with hooves were
bad enough, but the thought just struck her- just how much
damage can those talons do if a Griffon mean some serious harm?
Hmm... A question for her sisters, but certainly not something
she'd be willing to find out on her own. "I'd love to teach you,
Claire. You gotta be quick on those wings to keep up!~ Oh, and
don't worry about the whole housing thing. I like to go out and
       practice at night, too!~"
She watches as the two excuse themselves to wash up, taking a
moment of silence to recharge. She didn't quite expect to make
two new friends just by stepping into the inn, and it wasn't
very often she was provided with an energetic outlet that wasn't
performing. The Noctral orders herself a fruit salad and a cup
of honey-roasted coffee, staring deeply into her drink as she
waits for the two to return.

Once in the washroom, Star set her suitcase down on the floor
beside the sink and propped herself up onto her back hooves,
before starting to really scrub her hooves down in an attempt to
remove the gradually hardening mud from her coat. Her front
hooves weren't much of a problem--besides the fact that she was
slightly worried about her coat staining for the moment, they
were at least easy to scrub, and get fairly cleaned. Her back
hooves were much harder to deal with... though once she arrived
at Ivory's home, she was sure she'd be able to soak in a nice,
long, warm, relaxing bath... She sighed pleasantly at the
thought, anxious to sink down in a big tub, preferrably with
some candles, some music, a book... Another pony would have been
nice, too, but that was--unfortunately--beyond her for the
       moment.
A whole house. Three rooms, two presumably empty. Star wondered
for a moment how Ivory could fund it all, but shrugged the train
of thought off. She had a way, and she was sure she'd be able to
ask the mare later, if she was willing to share. Still, having
all that to her name must be wonderful--and if most of the house
was empty, and the noctral was willing to share it all with
Star, she'd have been a fool to turn it down. She knew she
wouldn't be able to stay there for free forever, but it was at
least a reassurance for her, until she could get herself back on
her own hooves again. One less thing she had to worry about for
       the moment.
The pegasus was brought out of her thoughts when the door to the
washroom opened, and Claire stepped in. The warm smile that came
so naturally to her face played on her lips once more, only to
blink some when she noticed the griffon taking those deep
breaths, seeming almost panicked, not even noticing Star. The
smile was replaced with a light frown, though she remained
silent for the moment, not wanting to startle the poor girl.
Then, just as suddenly as she entered, the griffon left again,
causing Star to shake her head slowly with a faint sigh. She had
no idea how to help, which was one of the worst possible
       feelings for the pegasus.
Regardless, there was little she could do about it, and
wallowing in her thoughts did her little favors, either. Star
finished up the rest of her business in the washroom, before
finally stepping out some handful of minutes after she'd
entered. On the way, she passed by a fresh face to the inn, a
black coated unicorn with a yellow mane, looking horribly wet
like a cat that had fallen into a tub on accident. "Hi, dear,"
Star greeted to the mare, canting her head in greeting. "If
you'd like some company while you warm up, you're more than
welcome to join me and my friends over here," she said, pointing
to them with a hoof before moving over to the table herself,
       either with or without Sona.
Once settled back in her chair, her front hooves free of mud but
stained slightly brown, and her back hooves still horribly caked
over, Star greeted the other two with that same, relaxed smile,
before speaking. "Sorry it took so long. There was more mud than
I'd expected, then all that running water..." She shook her head
a bit. "T-M-I. My apologies. So! Back to the conversation. What
talents do you two have? And, Ivory, dear... You mentioned
practicing at night? What exactly is it you practice?"

"Talents? Well I was super into Aeronautics and Astronomy. I had
a dream of studying space and maybe even traveling up there with
EASEA. That's why I worked my flank off in sports to get a
scholarship to Canterlot's University...... Um... Anyways I'd
probably say my two best sports are boxing and volleyball,
thought I did play some soccer and softball before. I even
played football for a few years." Clare rubbed her two clean
       talons together.

Sona continued looking around until her gaze fell upon a pony
with large, furry ears and bat-like wings. Sona tilted her head
slightly. The fact was, she had never seen a noctral. As if
sensing her gaze, the stranger suddenly waved at Sona, and she
blinked. Not sure what to do in response, Sona did nothing until
another pony walked by and invited Sona to sit with them. The
unicorn was almost startled at the mare’s friendliness, but she
followed her to the table and took a spare seat in time to hear
a griffin- a creature she’d heard of, but once again, never
seen- talking about sports. Sona took time to meet each
creature’s eyes and give them a small nod in greeting. “Hello,”
she said. She glanced at the pegasus. “Thank you for letting me
join you. My name is Sona Nocturne.” She had a slightly strange
way of speaking, her words clipped and having little to no
inflection. She looked at the others. “I apologize for
interrupting, but if you don’t mind me asking... where exactly
am I? I was headed to Los Pegasus, but I fear I may have gotten
lost in my travels,” she admitted.

"Oh, it's quite allright, Star.~" Ivory smiles in return, taking
a sip of her coffee every now and then. Well, to be accurate,
her smile never really left, but it was still nice that her
friendly, yet random demeanor was well reciprocated. "Ah, I
practice lots of things!~" she exclaims excitedly, wiggling
around in her chair again. "Dancing and singing, to name a
couple, but depending on how clear the night sky is, I like to
practice my... aerial choreography, so to speak." The mare takes
another sip, nibbling lightly at the edge of her cup as she
tries to figure out the best way to explain her unique talent.
"You said you lived in Baltimare for a little bit, right? Have
you ever heard of the Star of Baltimare guiding lost ships to
the docks? If you lived there about the same time I did, you
might have seen something glowing, flitting across the night
sky. That was me... give or take some embellishments I may or
may not have heard yet. You see, for some reason, my coat
reflects the moonlight, and very generously, I might add. If I
move quick enough, I can "draw" lines and shapes in the sky."
Ivory takes a deeps breath- "And while I adore singing and
dancing for my audience, my most favorite thing to do is draw
pictures in the sky, so to speak, using acrobatics and
choreography to really wow the crowd. Granted, anything I "draw"
doesn't stay very long, but that's basically it in a nutshell."
She breathes again, blinking as she sits back to study her new
friend's faces. "Well... A long, complicated nutshell. Let's
just say you would have to see it.~"
The Noctral hums, gazing over at the Unicorn with another wave.
"Hi, Sona!~ I'm Ivory Star. You're not interrupting anything,
silly. We're just talking about... well... whatever comes to
mind, really.~" Ivory settles down in her chair again, now
taking a big swig of her coffee before twirling her now empty
mug on the table. "Aaahh, that's the good stuff." She blinks...
"Los Pegasus? That's a bit more than a hop and a skip and a jump
       from here. This is Ponyville.~"

The ever-present smile on Star's face was turned towards Sona as
the mare sat, a hoof raising to wave at her in greeting before
glancing to Claire. Space, hm? Star was always fascinated by it,
and the stars above... Though she had to admit she was much more
comfortable sticking to the world she knew, and helping where
she could there. She then looked back towards Ivory, lifting up
the glass of green tea the waitress had set on the table in her
absence so she could sip idly at it.
Aerial choreography was Ivory's talent, or so the mare said. She
nodded a bit at Ivory's asking if she lived in Baltimare--only
to pause and furrow her brows some at the mention of the 'Star
of Baltimare'. Still, she listened with full curiosity and
intrigue as the Noctral explained, and talked about what she
could do in the night sky, earning a very large smile from Star.
She could only imagine what seeing something like that would
entail. It certainly sounded quite unique, and like something
that would make a lasting impression.
Her gaze then turned to Sona once more, offering a, "You've a
very pretty name, Sona!" before Ivory responded to the unicorn's
questions, specifically about Los Pegasus. "Yeah... You're more
than just a few hours away from it. I just came from there,
myself. Born and raised there, actually. Oh! Before I forget,
Ivory. You gave me a little idea... What would you say to
singing a song for our new friends, and the ponies eating here,
after we've eaten our food~? If you happen to know the song
Celestia by The Neighin' Jennys, I think that would be
interesting to sing." Her smile was almost mischievous now--but
still there, all the same. Her attention returned to Sona and
Claire after. "So, Sona--why Los Pegasus of all places? And,
Claire, where did you come from?"

"Believe it or not, I always wanted to go see that show when I
was young, but we never had enough money to go." Claire waved at
Sona. "Hiya! I'm Claire pleasure to meet you. Gosh I'm meeting
so many new ponies today." She turned to Star. "My.. parents
found me abandoned outside of Griffonstone before they adopted
me. But I lived right outside of Canterlot my whole life."

Sona blinked slowly at hearing she was in Ponyville. “Thank
you,” she said quietly in response to Star’s compliment, but
fell silent as Claire answered first. She had no idea what to
say to Claire after such a comment, so she just settled on,
“It’s a pleasure to meet you all. As for Los Pegasus, it has
little significance beyond being the nearest city to my home. I
must have started following the wrong train track very early
on.... This explains why it took so long to get here," she
noted. She had run out of provisions days before, and suddenly,
her stomach let out a deafening growl. She held up a hoof to
flag down a waitress. "What can I get for you?" The mare asked.
"Anything," Sona said tonelessly, starting to realize just how
hungry she was. "Something that can be made quickly, please."
The waitress nodded and hurried off.

"Oh, but you both have pretty manes! And plumes!" Ivory giggled,
poking idly at her empty mug. "To be quite honest, I don't think
I've ever seen that shade of blue on a Griffon, before...
Well..." She blinks, scrunching up her face again. "Come to
think of it, I don't think I've seen very many Griffons at all.
And certainly not in Ponyville. Many of them like that
Cloudsdale place up in the sky." She shrugs, listening to Star
as she passed on her suggestion. "Hmmm..." Ivory blinks at the
Pegasus, canting her head slowly back and forth as she taps her
mug lightly against the table, keeping time with the song
playing in her head. She didn't seem to catch Star's mischievous
grin, though, as she was too preoccupied entertaining the idea.
"Wake up the day, darken the night? That one?" The mare most
certainly remembered the song, gently swaying to the melody as
she looked up to survey the would-be audience and pick out a
good spot. "That sounds like a lovely idea, Star.~ Although it's
certainly been awhile, I remember how it goes. We could set up
across the room." Ivory points towards the lounge area-- the
very back of the section was empty with plenty of space to move
around and overlook the entire length of the inn. And despite
the rain, the large windows against the wall would provide a
nice backdrop for the two. If anything, it would only add to the
       song's beauty and meaning.
Ivory's thoughts are cut short as she hits a figurative brick
wall after Claire's comment about her parents. Her smile fades
somewhat as she picks up her mug to inspect it, distracting her
train of thought from wondering why anypony, or any griffon,
would abandon a child. Despite the short comment, it broke her
heart to learn something like that of a new friend. "That's... a
terrible thing to hear, Claire. But I'm glad you're here with us
today.~" The Noctral's smile returns, albeit less so than
before. "We have a station to the West of us, and to the North,"
she comments, now turning her attention to Sona. "The one to the
North will take you to Los Pegasus. You'd think it would be the
West one, considering the city lies to the West, but the West
track goes South and the North track goes West, and it's just...
weird.~" Ivory almost crosses her eyes, crossing her hooves in
all sorts of directions as she tries to explain it all in a
       goofy manner.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
"That's the one," Star said, nodding once in acknowledgement to
Ivory when the noctral quoted part of the song, happy that the
mare knew the one she'd chosen--then even happier when she
agreed to the idea, and that they could set up on the other side
of the inn later. She glanced back to it, inspecting it for a
moment, then nodded again when she looked back... Only to have
her ears fold down some at Claire's mention of her birth parents
having abandoned her. "That's terrible, Claire," Star said,
practically alongside Ivory, but let the other mare take the
reins as she gave yet another nod in agreement at Ivory saying
she was glad the griffon was with them.
As the noctral began explaining the train stations to Sona, Star
turned her attention to the waitress that stepped up to them,
carrying with her three salad supremes for the ones that had
ordered some time before. The same smile Star kept on her face
was offered to the mare as she set the salads down in front of
the three who'd ordered, before glancing between both Sona and
the waitress as she spoke, saying, "Your order will be out soon,
miss!" Then, after telling them all to flag her down if they
needed anything, she was on her way again--but not before taking
Ivory's empty mug so she could refill it--if the noctral had
       wanted it to be.
"Oh! I'm Star Dust, by the way!" Star said once that was all
sorted, looking to Sona as she spoke. "Sorry, got caught up and
forgot to introduce myself. So, question for each of you. Ivory,
with your ties in the Lunar Guard... Have you ever met the
princesses? If so, would you be able to tell us anything about
them? Claire, what was living in Canterlot like for you? Did you
deal with a lot of ponies looking down at you? And Sona, where
did you come from? And if you don't mind my asking, what's your
       talent?"
