Bright Ember keeps an eye on the two shadowy unicorns in the
corner until she reaches the stage. She wouldn't be able to
watch them during the matches, and they'd likely have a chance
to slip out while she was distracted. She's not overly concerned
though, it seems more like they're making some kind of exchange
than plotting anything truely dangerous. She puts thoughts of
the robed ponies aside as the matches begin. She defeats her
first opponent handily, the unfortunate competitor having agreed
to use rapiers for the fight. He never even managed to strike
her before she'd brought him down. The other matches she watches
with interest, noting that Hex and Fury were both much better
than the regular townsfolk. She smiles as she's matched up with
Hex, glad to have been proven right about the travelers earlier.
"Unarmed." She answers the waitress. From his earlier match, Hex
didn't seem much of one for weapons, and she hadn't come here to
take the whole contest without challenge. Besides, if she wins
the final match is the place to really show off her skills. She
gives a nod of Hex and takes her place on the stage.

The relief is visible on Hex's face when his opponent chooses
unarmed. "As the lady wishes", he says with a smile as he takes
up his position.

Iron had decided to pass on the competition, simply here for a
drink or two to relax, joining Clair at their table and
accepting his drink when it arrived. He managed to refrain from
rolling his eyes at Clair's antics, usually a show worth
watching all on it's own at times.

FOR EMBER/THYME and HEX/FAUST: As the two of you take your
positions and call out what you will be using for combat, the
waitress judging the match steps forward, nodding her head at
each of you. "Alright, the match between Bright Ember and Hex
Schwambart is about to begin! Both competitors can only fight
using their bare hoofs, nothing more! You win if your opponent
surrenders, you manage to push your opponent off the rug, or
worse comes to worse, you knock 'em out!" she yells out to all,
spawning a loud cheer from everyone in the crowd. "Alright, with
that, let the battle begin!" she yells, causing an even louder
cheer from the crowd, the excitement from the possibility of an
amazing duel hyping up the crowd.

FOR IRON, and CLAIR/PLO: As Clair makes the request for the
waitress to sit next to the two of you, Iron you can see that
she looks over to the bartender for approval. He gives a nod to
her, and she takes a seat next to the two of you. "Of course, I
would love to help you any way I can." she says cheerfully,
seemingly alright with this situation that she's currently in.
"Alright, so they're about to start a sparring match, almost a
wrestling match between the green pony that was with you, and
that Phoenix Wolf at the table in front of you." she says. "Am I
doing alright? Did you want me to do this like a commentator?"
she asks, unsure how to proceed.

((Alright, I will have Hex and Ember roll for initiative. For
this match, all attacks will be resolved against Touch AC as we
will not be using armour in this fight. Also, you can only use
unarmed strikes which I believe are a 1d3 + your STR modifier
unless you have a feat that changes this. Damage will be all
non-lethal damage, so just add points of non-lethal damage,
which should be in an adjacent box to your HP. Instead of taking
away points from your HP, add points to your non-lethal damage.
For victory conditions: You can choose when you can surrender,
but you must have taken at least 1 point of damage before doing
so. If you manage to move your opponent off the rug, you win
(kinda like a sumo match) and with hit points in this world, to
KO a pony NPC or a PC, you must reduce their HP to 0. To kill
them, you must bring their HP to their STR score. For example,
if you have a STR score of 10, then you must be knocked down to
-10 points to be killed.))

Iron chuckled softly, giving an appreciative wave over to the
bartender as he gave permission for the waitress to stay. He
focused on the match as he held his drink, curious to see how
how it would go. At her question, Iron reassured her, "I'd say
you're doing fine," he told her, "you don't need to worry about
it too much,"

Clair feels out for his drink and takes it in both of his hooves
when he finds it, gingerly bringing it up to his mouth and
taking a sip. He follows it up with a longer pull, then rests
his drink on the table, still holding his hooves around it.
"However you want to do it is just peachy. Do you have a
burning desire to explain in minute detail of the match in the
most flamboyant way possible? If so, go for it. Want to use
your dulcet tones to make it sound like their match is more like
a dance? Be my guest." He grins and takes another swing of
cider. "At the core, though, I just want to know how well
the..." What color did she say he was, again? "...green pony
who was with us does. Like, who hits whom, etc. etc. in your
charming voice."

Bright Ember watches as Hex advances, taking a moment to note
his defensive stance. From what she'd seen he was trained at
fighting with his hooves, and with Hex being cautious she didn't
stand much chance of taking him on directly. Not directly in
combat anyway, but Ember had never been much for subtlety.
Without any further pause, Ember lunges forward, picking up as
much speed as possible in the small space available. Rather than
attempting to throw an attack which would likely be easily
dodged, Ember instead just slams bodily into the earth pony,
trying to push him back and off the far end of the rug.
Initiative = 5
Bull Rush 1d20+2 vs CMD = 8

FOR ALL: As the match gets underway, there is a lot of cheering
that goes with it, the spectators cheering for either Hex or
Ember to win. The ponies that were with 'Fury' had already
dispersed within the crowd. zthey are watching the match with
the crowd. Fury is standing at the back of the stage watching
the match, almost amused. As he does this, he shuffles around on
his front hooves.

FOR EMBER/THYME and HEX/FAUST: Ember, you watch as Hex moves
into a defensive position, and you charge him in an attempt to
push him back. You only manage to push him back a few inches
before you bounce off him, landing back in front of him.
Hex, as you get into your position, a second passes before Ember
charges you at full speed. Because of how fast she charged you
after getting into position, she manages to catch you off guard,
but you manage to stand your ground, and you are only moved a
few inches back. With that, her body bounces off you and lands
on the ground right in front of you.
((Alright, if I have this right, then usually Hex would have an
attack of opportunity on Ember for bull rushing, but since you
have Total Defense, you don't get an attack of opportunity))

IRON, and CLAIR/PLO: The waitress that is with you looks at
Clair with a somewhat confused, yet blank expression oh her
face, with her simply replying with "Uh, ok then..." As the
match gets underway, she has to raise her voice somewhat so that
you two are able to hear her. "Alright, so the green pony, Hex
you said, just made a move towards Ember, the patron that was in
front of you. He seems to be guarding himself against Ember who
just tried to run into him. I'm not too sure why..." she says,
mainly to Clair, but loud enough so Iron can hear. The two of
you can obviously tell that she is still unsure about how she
can do this so that she is able to please Clair, her voice
filled with uncertainty.
Iron, as you watch the match take place, you are able to see
'Fury' at the back of the stage watching the match. In his right
fore hoof, you are just able to see a faint glimmer for a
moment, before it disappears.

((Ok, now that Iron's back, I'm not too sure about the posting
order. I guess for Iron and PLO, just post whenever you can
within the week, as for Faust and Thyme, the posting order is
the initiative order until combat ends.))
