The Grand Opening

Buzz! Buzz! The alarm in Nivalia's office sounds of for several
minutes before silencing itself again. The mare herself isn't
there at all, instead she paces around her store, ready for the
big day. Beads of sweat trickle down her forehead as she hurries
about. It took several months and plenty of hard work, but it's
all worth it. Watering the tulips and trimming the violets, the
changeling serenades her flora. Like a fairytale, they bloom and
blossom in their most vibrant colors and patterns. A collage of
colors and smells engulf the store, the sprinklers showering a
cool mist throughout. Just one more hour. Ponies begin to gather
at the entrance. Some holding one of the fliers she's been
putting up all week. As the last ten minutes tick, Nivalia makes
the final preparations. The murmurs outside fill her with
excitement as she brushes herself off. Her hoof rests on the
front door, the crowd on the other side. "Alright Niv, you got
this." Chimes sound the time to open. Nivalia takes a deep
breath, and disguises her true form, opting for the earth pony
look. "All ready. And here. We. Go."

Tinder had picked up a flyer to this new store on her way back
to home after the incident with Ebony and them. She did need a
something to spruce up her apartment, and she figures maybe a
small plant would be a good choice. So, on the day of the
opening she waits patiently with the crowd, heading in with
everyone else as soon as the doors open. Her whole plan is to
just buy a cactus, knowing it's the only plant that just might
survive the conditions of her apartment. She glances at the
owner as she enters, the crowd surrounding her too much to get a
good look, though she does look familiar.

Broadshield had been meaning to speak with Nivalia after Fox had
put forward the proposition for a business deal between
Nivalia's business and Equinox. Nivalia's medical wares for a
potential expansion for her business, or even recruitment into
Equinox. Come the day, Broadshield makes his way to the store on
its opening day, making his way inside, casually looking around
the products, but really just looking for Nivalia. In the crowd,
he couldn't find Nivalia, or Tinder, who he didn't know was
present.

The store is in a flurry of activity as customers are in awe of
the many plants and flowers. It seems like every minute that
passes, the register dings with a sale. A couple of employees
are our and about as Nivalia strolls through the halls. Turning
a corner, she spots a familiar orange mare and walks over.
"Tinder!" She shouts, giving her a big hug from behind. "Oh it's
been forever! How are you sweetie?"

Tinder jumps a bit as she hears her name, she hadn't been
expecting to see anyone she knew here. She looks back at Niv as
she's hugged, tensing a little with the irritation of her burns.
She smiles and turns to face her, "I'm doing alright, found a
flyer for this place and figured I'd stop by. I didn't know it
was your shop. How have you been doing? Last I saw you weren't
in the best of states."

After a little bit of walking around the store, he eventually
sees Nivalia and Tinder talking to each other. Walking up to
them, he says, "Tinder, Nivalia! Good to see you two! How have
you both been since Manehatten?"

"Broadshield! You're here too!" Nivalia exclaims as she hugs him
too. "Oh, things have been better since we last met. I got my
shop in Canterlot repaired and secured this new place just
recently. How about you two? I heard things got intense after I
left."

Tinder gives a quick nod to Broadshield as he approaches, "Good
to see you are still alive and kicking." She chuckles a little
and scratches her neck, "Yeah, I guess intense is a good way to
put it. Got a bit beat up, but it's healed now. Everything is
back to normal for me, not much is going on for me these days.
Sleep, eat, work occasionally and that's about it."

Broadshield recieves the hug before letting go before it gets
too long for comfort. "Yeah, things have been alright on my end,
Manehatten was intense though. If you consider a skyscraper
coming down into the harbor as intense that is." he says,
remembering the battle. "The place looks a lot better than the
last time we were here, last time you were held hostage... Good
to see you repaired the roof." he says, looking up at the spot
where the old hole was.

"Yea, repairing it was a hassle. But it was fixed in time for
the opening..." The mentioning of her being held hostage reminds
her of recent events. Her tone lowers, "Guys, there's something
I need to tell you. Some strange ponies stopped by my place and
waited for Fox to arrive. They escorted him to who knows where
and I haven't heard from him since. They let me go after he
arrived, and they definitely weren't with The 26."
