"Ok! Cranking up the juice!" The unicorn's eyes begin to glow
even more, an inner ring of white showing in its usual brown
irises. Hoofs glowing brighter, the magic surrounding the
asteroid fluctuates temporarily before a thicker aura shows.

Suddenly a distant explosion was heard.... Then more followed by
gunfire.
Jennings's eyes shot above him at the ceiling before turning
around. Then, the alarms began to blare and security doors began
to slide shut.
"What is going on?! What's happenings?" He asked one of the
stallions working at a monitor.
"There is a large force is attacking the base... Our security
teams have been dispatched." The stallion responded.
"We have collected enough Data, get him out of there and lock
down the asteroid!" Jennings ordered before turning his mic back
on. "Alright Fox, we need to get you out of there, make your way
quickly to the door."
Said doors were beginning to slowly open for Fox. Meanwhile
Mission Control was under a heavy lock down with guards flooding
the room.

"Oh sh!t. Things are heating up." Foxtrot meets to himself as he
powers down his magic. "Alright, heading out now!" The unicorn
makes his exit through the doors and back to the changing room.
He swaps out his apparel and grabs his gear. He then rushes over
to Mission Control as it buzzes with activity. "Who the hell
would be all the way out here?"

"They must have found out about this asteroid. No other reason
for anypony to come this far up North." Jennings had an annoyed
look on his face. "You are in good hooves Fox."
In a few hours the attacking force was forced to retreat and the
door to mission control was unlocked.
"I'm sorry Fox, why don't you go to your room and rest up a
bit." Jennings turned around and quickly began to listen to the
scientists and soldiers that were feeding him information.
Before Fox would leave, he would see the life get sucked out of
the Colonel's face as a soldier whispered something into his
ear.

"Yea, sure thing Colonel. If you need anything, let me know."
Foxtrot replies, wary of the somber situation they're in.
Although he wanted to partake in fighting off the attack, it
isn't why he's here. As he trots back, his thoughts race as to
what this asteroid, as well as its Appleloosian counterpart, may
have stored away. Minutes later he gets to his room and climbs
into his bed. Staring at the blank ceiling, the unicorn takes a
deep breath and shuts his eyes. Meditating on the dreams he had
last night, he sees the imagery and sounds as if he was there.
Sand, blood, obstacle courses, they all appear more tangible,
more detailed despite being fragments of the whole. It suddenly
dawns on him, these weren't dreams, but suppressed memories of
The Phantom Initiative. He concentrates more, unaware of his
hooves faintly glowing; cries of mercy that were met with brutal
death, and more tests. Soon, the immersion becomes too intense,
Foxtrot shivers in cold sweat. The final image of a vaguely
familiar mug snaps him out of it. He sits up, trembling as he
scooches back against the wall and tightly holds his pillow
against his chest. The glowing subsides as he calms down,
deciding to continue at another time. "Damn it..." he whispers
to himself. Burying his face in his pillow, he takes deep
breaths to relax, not really paying attention to much else.
[I]'How long was this going on for? How many assignments, how
many lives- no. Damn it Fox now isn't the time for this! You
still have things to do here, and you get back... ah sh!t, when
I get back I have to meet up with Broadshield again. Crap he's
gonna think I went AWOL, or worse, gone turncoat. And Niv, god I
hope she's ok. I haven't even got a chance to talk to her...
Soon. Soon I'll be back home and things will be back to normal;
or, as normal as things can get my life. Regardless, I have to
stay focused on what's happening now; this crap with The Phantom
Initiative will have to wait.'[/i]

A battered and exhausted Lauren walked into the room. Her eyes
were targeting her bed, but after seeing Fox, they focused
there.
"Oh my god are you alright?" She asked. "I hope the testing
didn't do this to you."

"Hmm?" Foxtrot looks up, realizing the position he's in. "Oh, no
no no. I'm fine. I'm just... uh, sorting out some mental stuff."
He places the pillow next to him and stretches. "The test itself
went well, they gathered a ton of information. Hopefully they
can put it to good use." He eyes her up, noting her own fatigued
state. "Rough day?"

"Well we can't identify anypony that attacked us but they were
sure prepared. My chopper was hit, but we were able to make it
back to base without to much damage to the thing.... I heard it
was even worse at Appleloosa." Lauren made sure her roommate was
okay before lying down on the bottom bunk. "I have friends
there."

"I hope they're ok." Foxtrot replies. "It just doesn't add up
though worth these attacks. Even if they managed to break
through our defenses. What the hell would they even do with this
asteroid? You guys just started to learn about this and you're
all decked out with the latest tech. What would they have that
would give them an edge?"
