"Well it's not a very good one." Trixie comments before looking
over to Vinyl, meeting her eyes. "What? You're blaming Trixie!?"
Trixie regains her composure, standing tall and letting down her
light spell. "The Great and Powerful Trixie would not make any
mistakes!" She gestures to the mayor, "Would not have done
something so mundane!" Then to David, "And most of all, would
not have gotten herself soaked trying to run away!" She pulls
off her hat and wrings out some water.
"Running Trixie's cart off the road with his own just because he
can afford to have it pulled by athletes, on the edge of a
mountainside no less! Thankfully Trixie was uninjured but her
cart and all of her belongings were destroyed." Trixie lets out
a short sigh, "...again." She shakes her head and puts her hat
back on, "Trixie would have made a spectacle of the occasion to
end that stallion!" She crosses her forelegs and sits on the
floor, "A filly could've done something this simple."

"If I had the time, yes." Brash answers what she believes to be
an accusation from Trixie. "Though I think I'd go for a manual
trigger, to avoid mishap." She begins pacing atop the table,
gracefully avoiding stepping on any dinnerware. "One of the
culprits is obvious and it's quite the surprise she isn't the
first one everypony thought of. However, it's also obvious we
       aren't dealing with one suspect."
"I very well could be the one skilled enough to have placed that
trap, and I've motive just the same. My father was a great
inventor and he taught me his art, though he accidently left out
lessons about patents and some of my very first creations were
stolen and patented under our now deceased friend's name over
there. Now it'll all be a matter of waiting for the patent's
term to expire..." Brash trails off and begins examining the
others in the room. "Now then, the one who set the trap is
likely much less dangerous to us than the one who used the
knife, and in that short period when the lights were off," Brash
sits on the table, as close to Rainbow Dash as she can get, "It
must have been somepony pretty fast."

Rainbow Dash watches as everpony in the room shifts the blame
onto somepony else, until the little filly puts the blame on
her. "Kid, if you're really going to try and pin this on me,
then you don't have a clue as to who I am. First of all, like
Fluttershy said, I'm an element of harmony, I can't kill him!"
he says, taking a pause before continuing. "Alright, lets just
say for the sake of the situation, I wasn't an element of
harmony. I still wouldn't have been able to kill either the
Mayor or David, even if I wanted to kill the latter, which I
don't! Firstly, the Mayor. He was shot wasn't he? With that gun?
When that happened, I was talking to these two," pointing to
Caleb and Ocean. "I would have had no way to set off the gun.
I'm not exactly ambidextrous or anything like that, so I
wouldn't have been able to fire the gun, either manually or
through some contraption. I don't know how to make those things.
Secondly, David..." he says, the last part with venom as he
looks over his body. "When those lights went off, I was with
Flutters, making sure nothing happened to her. Even if I wasn't
with Flutters, I still wouldn't have been able to kill David in
the dark. I can't both fly AND hold a knife in the dark, and
stab David in the back. I would've made sure he looked me in the
eye if I did kill him, not stab him in the back in the dark,
like what he did to me..." she says.
"David is nothing more than a slug who deserved his death. He
approached me, way before I joined the Wonderbolt reserves, and
the academy. He told me that he had gotten me a one-on-one
audition to join them. When the day came, turns out he rigged
the entire course, and no one knew about it. I crashed a lot,
and I crashed hard into thick cumulus cloud. I broke a few
bones, and I damaged my wings so badly that at the time, it
looked like I wouldn't ever be able to fly professionally. The
worst part was, he recorded every bit of it, and it was all over
the news, I was the laughing stock of all of Equestria! That
audition and injury set me back a year from joining the
Wonderbolts! For so long, I wanted revenge to come up on him,
and it looks like I- no, we all got what we wanted. So yes, I
did have a reason to kill David, but I certainly didn't have the
means or the ability to commit the crime!" she says desperately.
"You want to know what I think? The only pony who could have
been able to not only set off the gun, but kill the right person
in the dark, would've been someone with a bit of... magic, and
not like that show magic that Trixie puts on for show, someone
with real magic." she says, pointing a hoof at Tinder. "You've
been a bit calm and quiet considering that we've had two deaths
tonight!" she says, accusing Tinder, as well as offhandedly
explaining what happened to Applejack, who had just entered.

Tinder hadn't been paying all that much attention to the
argument until she was accused, looking over and glaring at
Rainbow Dash, "What? You think I did it since I've been calm?!
Sure I hated the guy as much as anyone else, but I'm not gonna
kill him, at least not like this." She points at the contraption
the gun is on, "I don't have the technical know how to set a
trap like that up, and I'm certainly not gonna kill someone like
that if I need to kill them. That is leaving way too much
evidence and way too many witnesses."
She shakes her head and leans back in her chair, "Look, this
idiot had hired me for a job a while back, expected it to be the
biggest score of my career. But I got to the location and it was
a just a set up, there were a dozen guards there waiting for me!
I could have got stuck in jail because of him! But I'm certainly
not going to kill him because of it!" She looks around the room
as her gaze focus' on Thyme, "And hey, I'm not the only magic
user in this room, there is someone else that the rest of you
       maybe should be focusing on."

Thyme watches as the other ponies all start accusing each other,
each of their excuses doing little to reduce her suspicion. Any
one of them could have done it, and whoever did wasn't about to
confess to the crimes now. The others are right though, not just
anypony could have murdered David in the short time the light
was out. Thyme's frown deepens as the blame inevitably comes
around to her, and she shakes her head. "I had a few business
deals with David years ago, but he cheated me on them and I
almost lost my business. I wouldn't kill him over it though."
She says, shooting a glare over at David's body. "If I wanted
revenge I wouldn't have waited so long to get it." She ends
with, and then points a hoof at Ocean Spray. "What about you,
you said you wanted him dead after he'd been stabbed."

Slightly taken aback by Thume's accusations, Ocean replies,
"Yeah, and if you will recall, I said I only kinda wanted him
dead. That asshole bought the swim club I trained with as a kid,
then proceeded to run it into the ground through poor financial
choices and the horrible decision to coach the kids himself. He
ruined the most influential group in my life." Oceans gaze moves
around the room as he speaks, eventually laying eyes on David's
body. "I wanted him punished. My want for his death was similar
to the want of a young foal for the death of a school bully."
Ocean says, before pointing to the body. "This? This was
methodical, planned, calculated. I bet there are more
contingiencies around the manor for if David survived this. And
don't forget, it could be someone else. Big place like this,
there's sure to be at least one servant who disliked him."

"But there no other workers here!" Morgan responded. (Which is
true and established. You are the only living ponies left in the
       manor)
(Just so you know, David's wife fainted at the sight of her
husband dead. She is no longer significant in the story)
"We have to look around here for more clues. There has to maybe
be an obvious giveaway or....or something!"
Morgan turned around and tried to move the mini head statue of
David himself out of the way in the bookcase before suddenly the
entire book case shifted revealing a secret passage. There was a
stone stair case that lead down, illuminated by torches.
"Everyone move together. I'll head down in the front." Morgan
said cautiously beginning her descent down the stairs.

"I don't see how finding some hidden doorway or escape route is
going to help us find the killer. The killer's got to be one of
us, there's no one else, and its obvious the killer would want
to get rid of any witnesses." she says as she looks down the
passage. "But you're right, we have to stay together, no getting
separated." she continues, flying towards Applejack and
