"Glad to hear it," he nodded, "as it's sounding like you have
some homework. Learn to conjure fire," he explained, "though, a
tip, begin with learning how to manipulate it. It's easier to
understand the flame from there. And work up. A candle is a good
starting point," he advised, "and away from anything flammable,"
the last he added with a bit of alarm. As though speaking from
experience, "and yes. I saw the burns yesterday," he told her,
"we're going to get you some boots like mine. Durable and
       bordering on fire-proof,"

Ryo thought about actually writing this all down, but that could
make her look awkward. She had to show she could remember
something like this in her head. So no notes. Then again, notes
could show that she cares more... She'd write notes while
practicing, and show them to Iron. That way she can show that
she cares, and can remember things. Easy! "Okay... I-i will do
my best to learn this." Ryo said with a nod, underlining the
last point that Iron said in her mental notes. Near nothing
flammable. Got it. Ryo stopped and blushed a little, crossing
her front hooves to hide few band aids she had plastered on the
burnt spots after she had gotten home last night. "I-i... Rushed
a little yesterday..." Ryo admitted, a bit ashamed. Her ears
perked up though, as she wasn't gonna get scolded about work
safety. at least not yet. Instead she'd be getting boots like
Iron had. "R-really?" Ryo asked, looking at Iron's boots before
       saying "B-but aren't those expensive?"

"That's good," he nodded, "take your time with it. I don't
expect you to have to open and start the forge yourself any time
soon... it's just a useful skill to have," he advised, not
wanting any accidents. After her admission about yesterday, he
sighed a little, "yeah, I can understand that. But still, things
can happen," he explained, "and they're not so bad. Certainly
cheaper than medical bills... trust me on that part," having
burnt himself on several occasions in the past. Iron moved over
to the front door once again, "shall we, then?"

Ryo nodded, aiming to do everything she can to complete her
homework. "I promise to be careful..." Ryo said with a small
blush, as she said the same thing about not burning herself the
day before. But maybe that won't be a thing to worry about now.
Burning herself. Well, at least burning her hooves won't be a
problem. Ryo wasn't gonna argue against Iron "Y-yeah... That
makes sense..." she said, following Iron to the front door.
She'd work hard to earn those boots, once she was ready to move
over to the productive work. She nodded to Iron once again
"Y-yeah" ready to follow the stallion

"I'm sure that you will," he nodded. Truly, he did. But now that
he was responsible for somepony else on the job, he just wanted
to be sure. With her in agreement with him, he lead them out
into the streets outside. It was still early yet, so they were
missing the usual hustle and bustle of the main streets at peak,
but there was still a few ponies about, likely grabbing their
shopping and missing the crowds, a sentiment that Iron shared.
With most of the shops located in something of a central area,
it wasn't that far until Iron stopped, the store they were at
seeming to cater to safety gear.

Ryo once again stared at the passing shop windows, though this
time not looking for interesting places to work in, but actually
focusing on the products on display. The few ponies they passed
all got their own glances from the blue mare, before she made a
small detour to avoid a passing guard from a bit further away.
She quickly trotted after Iron, quickly stopping as Iron had
stopped. Ryo looked up at the store front, the place still
looking quite expensive to her, but she wasn't gonna start an
       argument about it anymore.

Making sure Ryo was keeping up, Iron looked back, giving her a
smile, before entering the store. The place was full of various
pieces of safety gear; high-vis vests, hard hats, masks, boots.
You name it, and it was here. And, from Iron's experience, if it
wasn't, the owner would arrange something for you. Speaking of,
he made an appearance at the sounds of arrival, "Ironfire, it's
been a while. What went wrong this time?" a pale yellow stallion
asked, a light-hearted tone to his voice as he flicked his
       yellow and black striped tail.
"Hey Hazard," Iron sighed, "and nothing... this time," he
answered, before stepping aside and waving a hoof towards Ryo,
"I've taken on a new apprentice. Ryo, this is Work Hazard.
Surprisingly, doesn't live up to his name," Iron added in with
his own joke, before turning back to address the owner, "I'm
here to get her some things. You know how bad it can be at my
       place,"
"Yes... intimately," Hazard admitted, having had several visits
from Iron due to work related injuries, "well, my dear, it's a
pleasure to meet you," he inclined his head towards Ryo,
       greeting the mare properly.

Ryo stepped in after Iron, immediately impressed by the size of
the store, and it's content it offered. She never even knew
there were so many different safety masks before. Ryo's
attention was drawn away from the safety gear, to the stallion
coming in to the store front, greeting Iron like an old friend.
He must shop here a lot. Ryo watched the two talk back and
forth, but when the topic of the discussion was focused on her,
Ryo turned to Hazard, smiled and bowed her head a little "N-Nice
to meet you Mister Hazard" Ryo didn't find it appropriate to
laugh at the joke Iron made out loud, but she giggled in her
       mind.
Ryo turned to look at Iron now, when the mention of things being
bad at his place came up. Confused, and Hazard's reply didn't
lessen the confusion one bit. Ryo's ears perked up, when she was
properly greeted by Hazard, the mare awkwardly greeting him
again, bowing her head and repeating "A-and it's nice to meet
you Mister Hazard... Again..." She then smiled to him, albeit
awkward, her smile still was genuine, and not nervous.

Hazard couldn't help but to chuckle at the unfortunate mare,
clearly nervous, "worry not, this won't take too long," he
assured the pair of them, taking a moment to ask Iron, "so, what
are we looking at?" he began, circling the mare, "usual sort of
       stuff?"
Iron gave a nod, "yeah, boots, goggles, a belt would be useful
if you have a spare laying around," he requested, listing them
off the top of his head, "and the usual treatment, fire and heat
       resistance,"
"Right-o," Hazard confirms, pulling out a tape measure, "do you
mind?" he asked Ryo, not wanting to just assume she'd be okay
       with him taking some measurements.

Ryo nodded, taking a backseat in the conversation again, as the
order for things she'd need was made. Ryo nodded slowly after
each thing Iron listed, unable to not think how much they'd
cost. But she already made a promise to work hard for them to
herself, and she'd keep it. Ryo watched as Hazard circled her,
watching the stallion pull out a measuring tape. Ryo blinked,
before saying "Of course." She then took a bit wider standing
position, assuming that Hazard would move her hooves, be it
necessary. "J-just tell me is i need to move"
