Obliging, Agilene pulls out a chair, and takes a seat on it. Her
eyes are kept staring directly at Broadshield's. While the look
he gave made her heartbeat increase its pace with slight
intimidation, she manages to collect her thoughts and remain
calm. "That's good to know," she responded, collecting the
papers, and organizing them in a pile. "He would always tell me
stories of the seas. But that all changed ever since he joined
       Equinox."
She holds a hoof out, "By the way, I don't think we were
       properly introduced. I'm Agilene."

"I'm quite sure you already know me from the files and photos
already, but the name's Broadshield, commander of Special Forces
Unit Equinox." He says, shaking Agilene's hoof. "Y'know, it was
your father who had actually put forward the idea to fund a
larger navy fleet. He brought up the need for more ships to my
attention, I put the proposal forward to the government, and
they accepted. Equestria and Equinox now have a fleet at over 30
ships strong. One of the ships I have to your father." He says,
looking at a hanged up image of a group of Equinox soldiers on a
dock with a ship in the background, with Broadshield, Aqua,
Drone and others posing for an image, all of them looking like
they were all having a good time. "He may not have told you, but
Aqua helped make a difference in Equinox and Equestria, you
should be proud of that." He says turning his eyes back to her.
"Anyways, I have a question for you I want answered. Why are you
here? Surely you wouldn't have just come her and sneak in just
so you can ask me some questions. Why is it that you're really
here?" He asks her, waiting for an answer

Agilene lowers her eyes down to the table, along with her
eyebrows. She was unsure of how to word her next question:
Joining Equinox. Should she approach it in a subtle manner, then
eventually get to the point? Or perhaps she should cut to the
chase and ask it immediately? This one question would probably
result in a dramatic change in her future depending on how
things go. With a slow breath, and short moment of silence to
think, Agilene looks up at Broadshield.
"Yes, there is another reason for me being here. I ask if
Equinox has space for another member. In other words, I have
       interests in joining."

Broadshield continues to sit in silence as Agilene makes her
request to join Equinox. 'Let her join Equinox? She shows
promise, her sneaking ability is impressive, considering she
managed to sneak into here, alright. Let's give it a shot.' He
thinks to himself as he leans forward on the table towards
Agilene. "Join Equinox huh? I think before I give you my answer,
I think it's worth knowing how ponies usually join up." He says,
getting up and casually strolling around the table as he speaks.
"There are two ways ponies join Equinox. The orthodox way is for
ponies, who may come into contact with an Equinox recruiter join
through there. Not too far from this base, is a smaller building
for recruits to sign up. Recruits go through background checks,
psychological assessments and a basic physical test. If you say
that a spy could sneak in, don't worry, we are very thorough
with the entrance checks. If they are successful, they will be
brought into the base, where they will undergo more physical and
ability assessments, to find what unit is most suitable for
them. We also continue to do background checks, psychological
assessments and constant monitoring. After that, they are made
official Equinox soldiers, and are deployed wherever they are
needed, whether it be another city, out in the wilderness,
overseas or on the ocean." He says, stopping for a moment to
take his old seat and face Agilene.
"I'm not gonna lie, you've found yourself into Equinox in a very
unorthodox way, and you've made quite the impression, managing
to sneak in here like you did." He pauses, looking at the air
vents before continuing. "If you're up for it, I'm willing to
begin to run some assessments now. The psychological assessment
will be done first, and we can always check your background
history on the fly. So what do you say Agilene? You up for
joining Equinox, like your father? He says to her.

Her eyes lighten up at the offer Commander Broadshield is giving
her. Surely her choice of words were well, she figured. Getting
up from her seat, she nods. "I'll do it. In a way, I'll be
following his hoofsteps. He'd always train me like how his
commander trained him back in the day. I was a little girl,
though. Hopefully all those skills are still intact." She
       grinned
Just then, a question sparked in her head. One she had almost
forgotten to ask, "One more thing: Not that it's an issue for
me, but would joining mean leaving everyone I know behind for a
       while?"

"I'm sure your father would be proud Agilene. You're making a
good choice in coming to us." He says, making his way to the
nearby window, providing a full view of Canterlot, second only
to his personal office, which gave him full view of Canterlot
and the nearby rolling countryside of Equestria. "Its about 6:30
right about now. All training rooms are being used up at the
moment. Our next integration starts at 10:00 tomorrow. Make your
way over to the recruitment building at 8:00 tomorrow, I'll give
you the details before you leave." he says, making his way over
to her. "Alright, I'll take you outside-" he manages to say
before he is cut off by the dull sound of an explosion. Sharply
turning his head towards the window, he sees a plume of smoke
rising up. Running over, he manages to see a small fire going
on, with smoke continuously rising from that spot. Putting on
his earpiece, he turns it on, listening to what is happening,
turning it down so that Agilene can't hear. "Someone tell me
whats going on!" Broadshield says into his earpiece, waiting for
       a response.
"Sir, there's been an explosion at one of the train stations. We
don't know how it was caused, or how many casualties there have
been. Royal Guard and Lunar Guard in the area are evacuating the
area and pulling out any injured and casualties. How do we
       proceed?"
"Send a platoon of soldiers from the medical unit with guard
uniform to help get the injured and casualties out. Send a squad
of soldiers from the Intel Unit to provide over-watch and secure
       the area. Keep me updated."
"Roger that sir." and with that, the channel goes silent.
Pulling out his earpiece he makes his way over to Agilene.
"There's been an incident in Canterlot. I can't tell you
everything right now. Do you have a place to stay here until
tomorrow? I'll drive you there, but I want you stay indoors
until everything blows over tomorrow, got it?" he says.

As Agilene follows Broadshield, she turns her head to the
direction of the explosion. She assumed it came from one of the
training facilities, and something went wrong. But gazing at the
smoke from outside the window, and hearing Broadshield's
question, there was much more at stake. "At the moment, no," she
replied with uncertainty in her tone. Her eyebrows lowering, and
eyes darting back and forth from the Commander and the window.
"But is there any way I can be of assistance? I'm aware I just
started, but something on the back of my mind tells me that
you'll need everypony available." For all Agilene knew,
Broadshield would refuse the offer, and send her to safety. But
she doesn't blame him, seeing as doing otherwise would mean
suicide. But somewhere in her mind lay the thought of the
commander giving her a small chance to join.

Broadshield continues to stare outside the window, watching the
dark smoke rise up into the night sky. He could only imagine the
scene of the event, the amount of pain and suffering caused. As
he looks out the window, his earpiece comes to life again. "Sir,
medical and intel units have been mobilized and en route to the
site. The medical unit has arrived and are helping evacuate the
area. No one's aware that its Equinox, neither does the guard.
The intel squads will be arriving in 1 minute, I'll have them
give you a SITREP on the situation when they've secured the
       area."
"Roger that, ponies still don't know that Equinox is present,
lets keep it that way. Broadshield out." he says before
switching off his earpiece, turning to Agilene.
"Don't have a place to stay here huh? Darn." he says, pacing the
room for a moment before stopping and turning to Agilene once
again. "Its's too dangerous to send you outside. We're currently
putting all of Canterlot on lockdown. Ponies are being told to
stay indoors, all transportation in and out of Canterlot has
been put on hold. We do this to try to minimize the risk of
danger to civilians, especially after the Changeling
Invasion..." he says, muttering the last part, painful memories
slowly resurfacing. Pushing those memories aside, he focuses
back on Agilene. "I appreciate the offer for you to help, I
really do, I don't doubt your skills or your potential, but its
simply too dangerous, and I'm not willing to risk any
unnecessary and potential casualties." he says, pausing before
continuing. "I'll probably have you stay in my office until this
all blows over, I'm going to be up all night anyway handling
this. Does that sound good?" he says.

As expected, Broadshield refused. But that quickly became the
least of her worries, and she hoped the issue in Canterlot would
resolve soon. Initiating a lockdown, and sending troops and
medics? Clearly not a good sign, and something out of her
league. Agilene gives him a quick nod, obliging to his offer to
stay inside. "Understood. Just be careful out there."

"Alright, follow me." he says, leading Agilene out of the break
room and making their way to Broadshield's personal office. On
the way there, they see dozens of soldiers rushing around, a
stark contrast to before. Upon arriving, Broadshield holds the
door open, giving Agilene time and space to enter. The room
itself has a large panoramic window with a full view of
Canterlot and the rolling countryside. On the right hand side of
the large room is a somewhat large office, with a large desk,
several monitors, an office chair, dozens of papers, and other
things you would expect to find in an office. On the left is a
bedroom with a large bed, a few monitors, and an incredibly
large, almost cinema like TV screen. In the room next to it is a
simple bathroom with basic necessities, shower and bath, toilet,
sink et cetera. "Alright, I'll pop by later to check on you.
Just stay here until then, watch some TV, sleep, freshen up, I
don't know. Just don't go into the office or mess with any of
the monitors. I do have cameras to make sure you aren't up to
anything." he says in a serious tone, showing he isn't messing
around. "Alright, I'll be off. If you need something, just press
the call button on the TV remote, I'll make my way there when I
can. Until then, just stay here and stay safe. See you soon." he
says, leaving the room before a soldier enters to stand guard,
before he locks the door behind. Before he leaves, he calls over
a soldier to stand guard at the other side of the door before
       heading off.
((Alright, make any last posts then I'll lock this thread and
       we're done.))
