Dead End
By: Meghan OConnor Date: May 15, 2016, 8:53 pm

"Hey Meghan stack those cans and clean up for tonight I'm going
home." A stallion said as he threw his coat on and walked out.
The automatic doors slid open and closed leaving the griffin
alone by herself in the store.
Meghan just rolled her eyes and grabbed a broom and headed
towards the mess of cans near the front of the store and began
to clean. She paused for a moment to straiten out the golden
nameplate pinned on her blue vest next to the smiley face pin
that her manager gave her to wear. Her name "Meghan" was spelled
"Megan" but she used her claws before to scratch in the 'h' in
order to fix it. Her manager honestly wasn't to bad, but she
hated nights like these where she could be out having fun. Then
again, she didn't have any friends in Ponyville. It had only
been a few weeks since she's moved here. Luckily the store was
usually empty at this time at night aside from ponies who are
getting high or going to a party, as well as stallions or mares
that are about to score. Those encounters are probably the most
awkward experiences. These thoughts actually made her smile as
she began to stack the mountain of cans again.

"Damn it, do any of these recruits even go over the map?
Strolled over three routes and found none of them yet." A sigh
exits the Captain as he resumes his walk, sporting his casual
leather jacket instead of his standard issue armor. Even though
it was his usual night off, the noctral's duties are always in
place. He had to admit though, Ponyville had always had its
unique charm; certainly a place he wouldn't mind moving to when
he retires. But that was a thought for another time, for now
it's just a matter of enjoying the night. He reaches into his
jacket, noting the unlit cigar still inside his pocket as the
light of the convenience store catches his eye. Shrugging, he
makes his way over, stepping through the automated doors and
giving a polite nod to the only worker there. Seconds later, his
ear twitches as he hears another patron enter the store and
immediately trot through another isle, too preoccupied to notice
him. Browsing the store's wares, he becomes slightly frustrated
at the fact that he can't quite find what he's looking for. The
search does distract him from the other patron, a regular cream
colored stallion with a grey hoodie and a stare that can't
really stay in one place.

Meghan whipped her forehead and let out a sigh.
"Finally done." She muttered as she looked around at the two new
customers. To be completely honest, Meghan did not want to help
the customer who clearly looked like he was having trouble
finding what he wanted. However, since she was slightly high and
feeling friendly and bored, the griffon walked over and put on a
smile. "Hello sir can I help you with something?"

Ocean stumbled down the street, trying to keep his footing as he
headed towards the his destination. He had only just recently
arrived back in Ponyville from a swimming competition in
Canterlot that morning, and he was already trying to relax with
a nice old party. Unfortunately the host had decided to 'lose'
their bottle opener, and had sent Ocean to the store to pick one
up. As he entered, he saw a gryphon helping out a batpony, and a
cream coloured stallion that seemed very out of place in their
hoodie. as he entered, his hoof caught onto itself and decided
to go for a ride, ending up flinging Ocean face first into the
floor. Ocean looked up, considerably dizzy, before getting up
and wandering over to the gryphon to ask, once she was done with
the batpony, wether the store had any bottle openers in stock.

"Hmm? Oh hey there." Ebony says as he's greeted by the clerk.
"I'm just looking for a lighter. Lost my last one on the way
here." His ears seem to be on a swivel as he listens in on the
other arrival as well as the other patron in the next isle.

Meghan turned around a bit frightened at the sudden noise before
nodding at the new customer and looking at Ebony.
"Lighters? They are by the counter let me take you there." She
walked over behind the counter and took a few out from a shelf
behind her. "Any color preference?"

Ebony follows Meghan over to the counter and looks over the
available lighters. "I'll take the navy blue one, thank you." He
looks over his shoulder to the chilled beverages. "I'm just
gonna grab a drink, then I'll be set to go. Excuse me." The
noctral trots over to the drink section, allowing the clerk to
assist any other customers in the store. His one ear still
focuses on the second patron a couple of isles away.

"Gotcha. Let me know when you are ready." Meghan walked over to
the new comer that just stumbled in. "You made quite an
entrance. Are you alright? Can I help you with anything?"

Ocean watched as the gryphon moved behind the counter. He slowly
moved towards the counter, before stopping to blink. However, in
his current state of inebriation, only his left eyelid went
down, followed by his right two seconds later. Slurring, he
said, "I'm good thanks. I'm just looking for a..." Stopping for
a moment to think, he blinked again, before remembering and
starting again. "I'm looking for a bottle opener. Preferably
something with a cute picture on it."

Ebony strolls over to the drinks and looks over the selection.
After some time he selects a chilled coffee beverage, keeping
watch in his reflection. He then decides to trot around, picking
up some gum as well before returning to the counter. The noctral
ends up third in line, the stallion in the grey hoodie standing
before him. Not in a rush, he examines the pony in front of him;
his eyes sharpen as well as his hearing as the guard goes to
work while of the clock.
