Update Forum Canon

So there's been discussion about updating the time frame of the
forum to include the events of Season 7 and the MLP Movie. As of
now the canon is set up to the end of Season 6. The poll above
has been created to determine what should be done. In the event
that S7 and the movie are included, spoiler alerts are still
required if posting about such matters. Comment below to discuss
recommended procedures and keep things civil. Thank you!

So, here are my thoughts. I think parts of the new MLP movie
canon should definitely be included in this forum's canon. My
basic reasons are that it would introduce new ways to RP without
introducing major limitations or changes that would require
everyone to have seen the movie to know what's going on. I go
into further detail with this below. Do not click on it if you
don't want to know anything about the movie.
[spoiler] The new MLP movie would add plenty to the list of
potential species of a RPer's character: seaponies, hippogriffs,
storm creatures, (a.k.a. The Storm King's minions), hedgehogs
(Grubber), and upright, large cats (Capper). Digging deeper, it
seems there are even more, including anthropomorphic: fish,
"lizardfolk", snapping turtles, and naked mole rats, plus
multiple creatures that let's be honest... we have no idea what
they are. I'm all for introducing seaponies and hippogriffs, but
I feel like introducing the option to basically anthropomorphize
any animal could lead to blurred lines, difficult decisions, and
confusion for the people who do not want to see the movie. Even
just adding seaponies and hippogriffs would require things we
would need to establish. For example, are there any "natural"
seaponies (a.k.a. seaponies that were born as seaponies and not
turned into them through magic), or are they just myth? Can
seaponies that were a different race previously turn back into
that race at will? Princess Skystar appeared to do this in the
movie, but maybe she could only do that through using the
magical pearl? (Forgive me if I'm remembering anything
incorrectly. I blame airplane turbulence and bad headphone
ports.)
Also, the possible addition of canon species-changing magic
being possible in the MLP universe could prove interesting to
work with as well. If we are careful about which parts of the
movie to incorporate, I think it would be fairly easy for people
to not see the movie ans still be able to roleplay without being
at a major disadvantage.[/spoiler]
As for season 7... unfortunately, I have not seen any of it,
though I'm willing to do so. If there are events that happened
that could improve roleplay possibilities if they are
incorporated into this forum's canon, let's do it! But as I just
don't know if any major events happened, I'll have to wait for a
more up-to-date watcher to post their thoughts on this.
